I think the brightness levels on both were identical or within one or two points of each other, so I'm a bit surprised about the middle being a bit bright. The middle one was the 2 second exposure, so it was a bit dark to start with. I think that's why I chose to go with a more constrasty S curve in post processing. The first image was the 4 second exposure and had better shadow detail without much difference in the highlights.
I liked the second one originally, but I think I'm starting to like the first better, simply because it has the better range. The third was cropped to 4x5, as I'm not terribly fond of 2:3 in portrait orientation anymore, at least when I was making prints it didn't "feel" right.
Any comments on the subject matter? Boring? Interesting?
