If you haven't seen this it's pretty nest - no matter what your political affiliation is.

2009 Inauguration Photo - SUPER HI-DEF

This is absolutely the BEST in 'high definition'..... Really amazing. Zoom in ('double-click' an area) ....and watch it focus. Then zoom some more... and wait for focus. What a surveillance tool this is !

This picture was taken with a robotic camera and weighs in at 1,474 megapixel. (295 times the standard 5 megapixel camera) It was a Canon that pulled together over 200 individual shots. Each zoom in takes a second to focus ...and then you can see some amazing reactions. Bonus points if you find Yo-Yo Ma .... taking a picture with his iPhone.

Hi Karol,

Amazing!

I'm surpised I'm the first to comment - everyone I showed in the office was impressed/amazed.

I sit next to a black guy at work who took leave to fly over and meet up with some old school friends of his that now live in the U.S. - they all went to the Inauguration (albeit as close as anyone could get on the day).

Some of my colleages laughed at me as I had no idea what (who) "Yo-Yo Ma" was! I spotted someone in a big coat to the top left of the scene, taking a photo with a phone, but my colleages say that isn't him?

Mark.

Well I couldn't find him either so I searched the web and found another photo from that day - now see if you can locate him!

Amazing what one can do with modern technology.

I don't know quite what the age distribution of the members of this forum are but thought it would be worth passing on some information about technological change. Given the mortality rates of 1900, about half of those born in the United States then would have survived to age 58. With current mortality conditions, about half survive to age 83. That's extraordinary progress. Lots of time to take additional photos and pass them on to our ever dwindling number of grandchildren.
