Response to What NO vote was that, HR?
Try to keep up with the adults, smike. You might actually learn something.
France and Russia showed their "cards" long before the vote, and never waivered. Why can't you admit that they were a big part of the problem in Iraq!
France and Russia were repeatedly asked to use their considerable influence with Saddam to get him to voluntarily step down, a FULL YEARBEFORE 1441 was passed. Not only did Russia balk at the suggestion, but they gave Lukoil the green light to start making plans to "recover" their debt while they lobbied with France to lift the sanctions. THEY WERE ADVISING SADDAM DURING THE SANCTIONS, YOU DUMBASS!!!! Iraq owed France and Russia billions of dollars. Do you honestly think that a cash starved Russia had any interest at all in abandoning their plans with Lukoil to help Saddam open up the spigots again? Do you honestly think that France, with a population of 5 million + Algerian "would-be-terrorists", was willing to abandon their long term relationship with Saddam, and his bribe to open up the oil fields to Elf-Total-Fina, for their continued complicity?
Why do you only focus your slobbering gob on a last ditch call by Bush for France and Russia to join the fight?
