Response to Your distortions have become a nauseating mantra...
.....does not give President Bush the right to attack, invade, occupy and colonize Iraq. As for Hussein shooting at aircraft patrolling the no-fly zones, as I said before, if another country was flying aircraft over Texax, I doubt you'd have any problems supporting your own Militias shooting at these planes...why would you be surprised Iraqis are upset and willing to shoot at planes flying over their country?
.....As for your link, right away, there was no "imminent threat" against the US by Iraq, and at the end of the third, non-italicized paragraph, it talks about a pre-emptive strike being self-defense..."IF IT WAS TO FORESTALL AN ATTACK THAT WAS IMMINENT"!!! Considering there was no imminent threat from Iraq, a pre-emptive strike against Iraq by the US, according to this, the pre-emptive strike would be illegal...or wrong.
.....From the 9th para, this would suggest President Bush's actions are not right..."The prevailing view probably is that, one way or another, anticipatory self-defense is permissible but traditionally has required the existence of an imminent threat."
.....And this, "Vice President Dick Cheney until recently adopted a more aggressive posture reminiscent of a Cold War ideology -- “us good, them bad” -- and the United States needing an unfettered capacity to take action anywhere at any time."...this is one reason why the US isn't getting the support it wants...D'
