.....I think, with regards to criticizing Russia and France, most of here agree what they were doing was wrong, so once we've all said so, that's where the criticism ends. With regards to the US being criticized, some here feel it's undeserved, others feel it is deserved...that why the topic has had a longer shelflife.
.....As for President Bush's diplomatic failures, I suppose it's not wrong to assume I believe he has, though I don't think I was pushing that issue very strongly. Yes, I do agree he failed to get UN and International support for his War Against Iraq, did he give up too early? Probably. But more than anything, I just think his reasons were not good enough from the start, not much he could do, can't draw blood from a stone. I think a lot of people see the War Against Iraq as being different from the War on Terrorism, despite the Administration's attempt to link the two...and I also believe President Bush's War Against Iraq was a timing thing, where 9/11 happened, Americans were pi$$ed off...President Bush WANTED the War Against Iraq, this was a pretty good excuse to do what he wanted, but I think he over-estimated the naivity of the International Community, thinking all the World Leaders would just accept 9/11 was justification to attack Iraq.
.....Though I admit it's just a theory, I think it's worth exploring with regards to the France and Russia getting the jump on the US with regards to Iraq's oil. And yes, I do agree with you that nobody should have been able to deal with Iraq, but I hope that's not the driving force behind President Bush starting this war...but I do believe many people think it is...D'
