Response to Historical time line -
OK, brother, lets say as far as the war on terror goes, I feel the same way you do.
But, therwe years later with no objectives attained and a recently revised terrorism report... clearly, we are not winning the battle
So let us ask ourselves some questions.
How come the administration, beuing aware of that long littany in incidents and a direct warning at the highest levels of intel and counter terroris, had no plan to counter the threat on 911 and waffled when the attack came to the point of negligence?
I agree with you on the war on terror, Burgie, always have. We need a strong, decisive, focused leader that can focus on the beast and get the job done in BOTH protecting the homeland and hunting the beast down.
Bush started losing that battle on 911, when, after being warned, after the long littanly of events you just described, he did nothing! Check the record, this isnt politics or bushwacking or anything but a fact.
Think of it.
Would you be so irresponsible? I'm sure I would not have been.
He knows everything you just posted, he was warned by the highest level of intelligence that bin laden is going to fly airplanes (PDB 6 Aug) and he did.... nothing!!!!
Then look what happened during the period between the initial attack and the subsequent attack on Washinton! Now the first two planes, could be excused, but what did they do then? Other then flinch? They sacrificed the population of nations freaking capital to what Cheney was told up to five passenger jets??? (they were wrong, there were only two)
The order, however heartrendering, was never made.
Ergo, those within the pentagon were NEEDLESSLY slain and that rotten cocksucker bin laden proved he could reach out and strike the omnipotent US military right where it lives, the pentagon. It could have very well been the White House to were it not for the valiant...
How can you support such incompetence when the beast that faces us is capable of such operations?
The doomed passengers who took matters in their own hands knew what to do to protect the innocent and did it, how come Cheney didnt????? Or Bush? Even when there was plenty of time to protect the nations capital from a TERRORIST attack?
hell of a way to win a war, eh? Roll over and let them act at will?
Amd isnt that contrary to what we have been led to believe all these many months, eh? The order was never given, niether Bush nor Cheney had the courage to do what had to be done after the horrific attacks on the WTC, they left the nations capital defenseless and the people within completely unaware (which is probably even a bigger failure) of the multiple threat approaching.
What kind of leadership is that, Burgie, on the war on terror?
Then he chokes in Afghanisatn, bailing out early to play with hussien when the objective had yet to be attained, the results of which were are no seeing in todays revised terrorist report???
Im all for waging the war on terror, Burgie, but were Bush and Cheny military men, they would have been relieved of their commands long, long ago and, hopefully, the mission would have been accomplished by now.
Warriors win wars, not chickenhawks.
