Response to How wrong you still are!
.....and until THE US concludes ITS War Against Iraq, it has no chance at winning the War On Terror. You can use both terms as if they're interchangeable if you like, but they're not. And continued references to Afghanistan when talking about Iraq, so what!? We all agreed a long time ago, going into Afghanistan was a good thing...that's where bin Laden hangs his hat, he's responsible for 9/11...find him and kill him, make it public, make it painful, his capture and death should be America's way of giving the finger to the terrorists.
.....As for what I've learnt about the War Against Iraq, because that's what you're really talking about, I have learnt that just about every US soldier here in the Sinai would much rather be here than in Iraq, and not simply because this is an easier mission, but because too many American soldiers simply do not agree with US soldiers being in Iraq, but it's kind of like the homosexuality issues, "No Ask, No Tell!!"...that's the answer you get when talking about politics and if you agree with President Bush. It's sad to see the supposed greatest fighters of Freedom of Speach so afraid to express an opinion. Unless you're in a private conversation with an American soldier or officer, openly, it's all towing the party line...but behind closed doors, that's when you hear what they really think. Are they cowards for not saying what they really think? I don't think so...but the threat of being put in jail does funny things to you, I guess. However, despite the fear of openly saying so, it's comforting to hear many of them will not be voting for President Bush in the upcoming election. With a little luck, it won't be too long until the World is indeed a safer place, when President Bush is defeated in the next election...D'
