In past elections they tended to vote Republican. That's why Gore filed suit to block counting military absentee votes. This time? Who knows? There are a lot of military blogs out there, linking to a lot of local news stories and I've read many. Conceivably as many as you've run into over beers and my impression is, in general, they support the mission and feel the potential result is worth the cost. In three weeks we'll know the vote breakdown.
I think it fair to say support personnel would rather be stationed in Hawaii than the Aleutians and guys that volunteer for the line units are inclined to be where the main event is.
