I get Zell's point... look past the media. He obviously hates the press if he wanted to challenge that guy to a duel. I also see his point that war is a bloody thing, and comes at a high cost. If people were originally for the war, they shouldn't change their minds because telecommunications allows us to see how bloody it really is.
That part I get, but the anti-war crowd have other issues other than being over-run with intense media coverage of a bad situation. It really comes down to WMDs and links to al-Quada, which unfortunately will only be learned in history books 50 years from now.
Another note about Zell's hate for the press. When the war first started, American media was critisized of being too pro-war by other countries. That was when the tanks were charging through and everything was going "good". I just wonder if Zell had a problem with them then, when there was more public support for the war as a result of the media coverage. | |
