It's real scary! As Charles of lgf puts it:
When it’s all read in context, you can see that although Bin Laden does acknowledge Al Qaeda has been damaged, he’s not nearly as conciliatory as the edited five-minute version made it seem. Some people have commented that it seemed suspicious he didn’t mention Iraq—well, in the full version he does, at some length. He rants about Halliburton, gloats about 9/11’s effects on the US economy, and reminisces about his interviews with TIME Magazine, Peter Arnett, and Robert “Love Me, Osama” Fisk—and threatens attacks unless the US elects John Kerry, explicitly saying that US states voting against Bush will be protected.
Personally, I think any American who bases his vote on Osama's opinion, no matter how it influences him(Bush or Kerry), should be kept from voting just on general principles of mental incompetence. As Bob Kerry put it tonight, on Fox, "You may as well base your decision on what Jeffrey Dahmer thinks."
Bin Laden got his ass kicked all over Afghanistan, and if he ever sticks his head out far enough from his hole, it'll be blown off in about two heartbeats. We have bigger fish to fry than Osama, right about now. He's still someone to round up, but then, so are about 1000 Baathists and 1000 more imported terrorists in Iraq, and many more scattered around the world, including those in North America, who present a more immediate threat than the old camel-fuc# in Pakistan's wilderness.
