Response to The truth about Bush?
The media - particularly the left leaning media in Canada - have alternately portrayed Bush as a reckless cowboy, a right wing warmonger, an idiot, and a religious nut case. It apparently worked with you and D', because you've both parroted that load of hogwash, in addition to the Guardian's "neo-con" conspiracy mantra.
I'm repeating this, again, but most educated Texans (and I stress "educated") know that Bush was the most effective governor the state has ever known, which was no small accomplishment in a state where the governor is Constitutionally relegated to little more than a figurehead. His success as governor was primarily attributed to his personable, one-on-one style of negotiation and his studious, disciplined approach as an executor. None of that changed when he went to the White House. He certainly has his faults, which sometimes concern me, but they're nothing compared to the unsubstantiated crap that I've read from you and the sources you quote. In short, Bush is a proven leader who didn't/doesn't delegate difficult decisions to Dick Cheney, or anyone else.
