I can relate to your frustration. The year I moved out a lot of new things started popping up on the home front. A new car, new computer, new oil furnace replacing the need to keep throwing hardwood on a fire all winter, etc, etc. It's either a way of teaching us a lesson as children, or a case of retail therapy at the thought of aging... or, both.
I'm almost convinced I am the grim reaper of air conditioning systems. Twice the A/C has gone in whatever car of my parent's I used to drive the most. This is now three different A/C systems in three different businesses that haven't worked for me... I dare not tell my current fellow employees. We're into day two of 30+ degrees (I think that's about 80-85 F) plus 90% humidity here. The worst part about no AC in the office is it makes drinking coffee near impossible, so I'm thinking I might as well bring a pillow this afternoon. Fortunately for us, the ocean will cool things down once we get a wind change or a thundershower predicted in the next couple of days. Likely just in time for the weekend and it will be below seasonable temps then.... arrghh!
