Response to So what's a soldier's opinion?
"Anyone who doesn’t think we are accomplishing anything over here doesn’t understand the issues. This is absolutely the most important thing I have ever done in my life. I truly believe the biggest battles for democracy are being fought right here in Viet Nam. The Communist are attempting to sabotage US Soldiers in the rice paddies, which it much better than fighting them on US soil. Also, not only did we kill a lot of gooks and are attempting to eliminate an anti-American dictator who really hates us for invading his country, we are influencing the entire region by trying to bring democracy to Viet Nam. As the populations of China, Laos, Cambodia and even Russia start to see what democracy and capitalism has to offer, they will want to experience it also."
.....See, Iraq...Viet Nam, same thing, just 30+ years later...D'
