Response to Headline caught my eye...
I can't find the story right now, it has been burried in the Internet archieves, but it was on the front page of the Globe and Mail about a month ago. A promising football recruit at McGill University in Montreal, whose father is a former CFL player, quit the team and went to the media after a hazing incident that involved a practical anal probe with a broomstick. There were a lot of other activities with the broomstick and I'm sure if we had a media with any guts to go after a prestigious university we'd find out what, but that's all that was said.
There's still pie in the school's eye though. I've never been a fan of hazing, other than the occassional head shaving or bleaching. One of my roommates in school played on the soccer team, and ended up in the hospital after his initiation when all the rookies were forced to hold toilet paper in their ass while it was lit on fire. Whoever held on the longest, won. He won, but ended up in the hospital with a burn. Is it just me or is hazing out of control these days?? The player from McGill's father, who played in the CFL, said it wasn't like that when he played... but maybe he's lying.
