Down go the Liberals, kicking and screaming! Quite a campaign it will be. Out of the gates quick before Christmas, a lull for a few days around the 24th, then a push to the finish for close to a month. Paul Martin is trying to be brave and put on a stern face, but he's got to be quaking in his shoes. He marched out onto the field in Vancouver for the Grey Cup last weekend to a chorus of boos. All the while, he was trying to get chummy with some of the players who seemed to ignore him like the dork on the playground.
It's all or nothing for Harper. If he doesn't win, he'll resign, respectfully... unlike some warts who cling to power (eh hem, Martin?). The only thing I'll get sick of over the next few months will be the attempts at smearing Harper's image, as a right-wing extremist. Oddly enough, some of the "ideas" the Liberals have been bringing to the public the last few months are actual Conservative policies that Harper was instrumental in bringing to the fore. What a bunch of pandering goofs. It's too bad some policies couldn't have been copywritten.
Sad thing is, the rest of us rely on Ontario to decide any election. Hopefully they'll be smart enough there to take the breath of fresh air a Conservative government would bring.
