I'm ever surprised to hear another human speak my thoughts, deepest thoughts, those that don't come out of my mouth in front of my Minnesota/DFL family members lest I spend the entire visit listening them harp about how "old frontier" I became after leaving "God's Country".
My son was in his 3rd year of college (U Cal at Long Beach - Hi'ya Duckie) before he had a professor allow that capitalism was not the bogey man of the world, striving to destroy all our humanity and grace. That professor taught economics and had lived in the real (non academic) world for enough of his life to recognize B.S. when he heard and read it. Unfortunately, he was the only one. Fortunately, however, the boy knew how to use his brain to analyze data and come to his own conclusions. Wishing to graduate in the prescribed number of years, what with the cost of tuition, books, etc., he generally kept his mouth shut while the others spouted the typical Democrat, Liberal line. Life improved a bit when he went on the the Drucker School of Business at Clairmont University for his Masters degree. I raised a true 2nd amendment wacko - Praise God!
