I don't have a serious beard-issue, thankfully. My Dad and a couple of my brothers are real "5 o'clock shadow" guys, but I'm more of a "7am the next morning shadow" guy. Sometimes I skip a day, and pretend I'm being fashionable, but everyone knows I'm just being lazy.
I can handle my beard with the same brass-handle that accepts the same twin-blade cartridges I've been using for 25 years, with the fancy lubricated-strip that does...I don't know what it does. The cartridges are cheap, you can buy them in bulk, and they last me a couple of weeks apiece. The handle is great, though, nice and heavy, perfectly weighted. My wife bought it for me at Hudson's, the Christmas before we got married. I know that, because we were just talking about it a few weeks ago.
I tried an electric for awhile, to escape the inevitable nicks, but it just seemed to take too damn long. Maybe it was a crappy razor, as my father-in-law gave it to me after he'd received it as a gift, and he already owned the "best one on the market."
The worst beard-issue I ever witnessed, belonged to this black guy I used to work with, as he had constant issues with ingrown-hairs that turned into bumps, and then bloody bumps. Egads. He solved the problem by growing a full beard, eventually. | |
