The unification of Germany is the extreme myopic leading the blind. The expansion of Euro-socialism in West Germany and a moribund East don't make for an easy answer. Billions spent on "rebuilding" without the means or will to re-establish a work ethic and a risk rewarding economic system do nothing to lift the East. If 24 per cent in the West want the wall back it's because they're tired of throwing money at their worthless cousins in the East. That's just a knee jerk money response. As to the 8 per cent of Eastern Berliners wanting the wall back; you can probably find 8 % in this country that think Jim Morrison is still alive. Not a significant number.
