I heard on the radio today that NC is one of the few open carry states. I have lived here five years and had no idea. For those not familiar, that means I can strap on a pistol walk around with it and not break any law. (sorry Octo. I realize the words "strap" and "on" in close proximity mean something entirely different to you, but in this case they mean "carry")
Now I still have to secure a license to carry a concealed weapon so I guess the logic is the law figures one can keep an eye on someone with a pistol in plain view, but one should worry about a hidden pistol.
The point of bringing this up is that there is no carnage here. If packing iron caused shootings and the easier you made it to carry a weapon the more people would do so, then that is disproved because here all you have to do is know how to buckle a buckle.
Since clearly this increased ability to carry a weapon does not cause crime I shall then posit that guns don't cause downtown crime, transit stations cause downtown crime.
