"Matrix" fans might see a "red blue, blue pill" analogue in Whittle's description of advanced American aeronautical strategy. Me, I just continue to marvel at the ingenuity and courage of our fighting men and women, on land, air and sea. I think Whittle's right: as great as our past soldiers have been, they've never had to be as versatile, flexible and discerning as today's, in a very strange, hostile/friendly battleground.
Whittle's writing with some real fire, in this one. He's always good, but this is one of my faves: http://www.ejectejecteject.com/archives/000172.html
