Hi,
Looking for details on No.3 Group Halifax SOE operations undertaken by No.161 & 138 Squadrons. Is there a web-site or can someone please point me in the right direction regarding GOOD books.
Regards

Hi Steve,
The book everyone always tells me I should read on the subject is "They landed by Moonlight" by Freddie Clark.
Bob Body may be the man to ask where to find details as he has spent a lot of time researching the loss of his uncles 161 Sqdn a/c. I'll e-mail you his contact details.
I have a few bits and pieces on 138 Sqdn but not Halifax. It was another type of a/c called Stirling - heard of them? :-)

Hi Ian,
Yes mate still in the smoke with all my colourful friends. :-)
Still plugging away with 218 Sqdn and Bomber Commands Short Stirlings operational losses, however spending more and more time ( and money ) researching all facets of 3 Group. It's this new avenue of research that's brought me into contact with 2nd best bomber in the RAF the HALIFAX. !!
Hoping all is well in the skirt wearing north. :-)
Best wishes
Smudger

We seem to have some Enemy Infiltrators in our midst!
Quick - Sound the Alarm!!
"What's all this shouting?"... What's this about Stirlings and Lanc's?? ... "This is a Local Shop for Local People, there's nothing for your kind here!"
:-)

Hi Linzee,
Thanks for that. I have been in contact with Bob. Seems the Gen man on the SOE squadrons.
