I just read an article about travel subsidies for Canadian veterans planning on attending official commemorative events in the Netherlands in 2005.
There will be a subsidy for up to $1,000 to support travel costs for Canadian veterans. To be eligible, veterans (including those who served with the Allied Forces and are now Canadian citizens) must have served in , or over, the Netherlands or in Dutch waters between September 1944 and May 1945, and be among the first 1,500 eligible veterans to apply.
Canadian veterans of the Netherlands should apply in advance to be sure they qualify for the subsidy prior to departure.
