Can anyone help with info about the loss over France of a Halifax from 78 Sqn on the n/o 14/15 Jun 44. In particular Sgt John Killingback who did not survive: photos, Tail Nos etc would be gratefully received as his old girl friend (my Aunt)would love some detail.
Thanks
Jon

78 Sqn Loss

January 19 2005, 7:33 PM

Hi Jon

The aircraft was Halifax III LV874 EY-P which crashed at Bersee, 18km SSE of Lille. All on board were killed and are buried in Bersee Communal Cemetery. Do you require the crew names. If so just shout.

Cheers

Eddie

Here's what's in the photo database for Halifax LV874:-

Nearest comparison LV876

EY-P JB798 Wrecked in a field in Germany
EY-P NA495 Returning from Ops
EY-P ????? "Popeye's Purge" coming in to land - ex ops.

Hope this helps?
