Hello,

On the 29th of june 1942 Halifax MK II W 1113 LQ-G crashed in Noordwolde, The Netherlands. The whole crew was killed.
Who has information about the crew, living relatives. I'm looking for pictures and any information about the 405 squadron during that period in 1942.

Yours, S. Looijenga

405 in summer of '42

AFAIK, 405 sqadron was part of 4 bomber group in the summer of '42. J Angus MacLean describes part of that summer in his memoirs 'Making it Home' ISBN 0-921556-73-x. He was pilot of H for Harry of the same squadron that went down June 8 of '42.

I've been doing some researche on this bomber and it's crew, and the messages on this board about H for Harry might help you. You can find them below.

Cheers,

Sean

405 in summer of '42 - H for Harry

July 2 2006, 1:38 AM

Hi Sean,

I note from your email that you have been doing reasearch on H for Harry which was piloted by my uncle the late J Angus MacLean. I am very interested in obtaining information on H for Harry and, therefore, wonder if you are prepared to share your research and/or your sources.

Incidentally, I discovered your email while doing basic internet research on Angus MacLean. I was in the RCAF from 1950 to 1963 and in 1956 iweas base at Greenwood with 405 Sqdn when it was equipped with the P2V7 Neptune.

Cheers,

Ivan
