I'm trying to find out the names of the crew of LW172, which crashed at Driffield on April 7th/8th 1945. Can anyone help? As an ATC cadet I helped recover the remains of said aircraft in the 1980s.

T/o 19:46 Driffield. Encountered fog on return and while trying to locate the airfield, the Halifax flew into trees and crashed 01:15 at Kirkburn Grange Farm, some 2 miles W of the aerodrome. All rest in various UK cemeteries. F/O Flynn had served with 76 Squadron, details of his award having been published in the London Gazette on 14 September 1943.
If I remember correctly the remains fitted into two tea chests and were deposited with the Yorkshire Air Museum. I don't know if any of the items found is one display. You could try the museum?
