Just wanted to say well done and thanks to all of those that served. And especially to those veterans that frequent this forum.

We're just as proud 60 years later and we'll never forget what you did for us!

Hi Peter and Matt. Just thought that I could get my two cents in (Canadian)with a few words re sixty years ago. We were with our squadron 420 at Tholthorpe, just having been call back before going on leave and told to remain on station as still seemed to be some uncertainty, and the station would celebrate officially then next day, but that didn't stop us from a booze up at night. On the Wednesday we had a talk from our G/C, followed by a church service. then partied at night with all the villagers attending. It now seems so long ago. Thanks for your thoughts. I too would like to add my heartfelt thanks to the veterans from all services who did what it took to give us our freedom, and lets not forget the civilians too who did their bit for the war effort.

We owe an enormous debt to those who gave some of the best years of their lives to fighting for our freedom and to those who made the ultimate sacrifice and who shall grow not old.
