Postwar French Halifax crash info sought

Hi all,

Yesterday I was given two photographs showing the burnt out remains of a French Halifax III or VI in a field somewhere in France. Apparently the aircraft crashed in 1946 after an inflight fire. The aircraft was put down and all occupants survived relatively unscathed. One of the participants was a young nurse who broke her collar bone when pulled out of the dorsal turret with brute force to free her from the flames. One of the photographs show this woman next to the burnt out tailsection.

her son would like to know more about the crash and the result of the fire as well as which aircraft it was. There aren't that many postwar French crashes I think.

Anyone of you know something about this? This is all I have unfortunately about the crash as the lady in question is in good health but her memory isn't.

Cheers

Cees
