Hi everyone,

Would like to introduce myself. I'm the unit historian for 462 SQN, RAAF (yes, 462 Sqn lives again!) and I am trying to get as much information on the unit as possible.

I am really trying to get together some archive footage of not just 462's Halibags but any Halifax in flight, so if there is someone out there that can help me out it would be greatly appreciated.

regards,

Craig Rowland

Is there a website for the new RAAF 462 Squadron?
What will happen to information (words or photos) sent to you?

thanks

Hi Craig
The only Halifax footage of any length & then rather short is on the DVD Forgotten Bombers of the RAF.This is not about 462 sqd. though. Try www.mraentertainment.com for it although I imagine others on this site know of better footage.
Regards Steve

'The French Squadrons 346 and 347 of Bomber Command 1943-45'- a VHS cassette featuring 'Group 4's Gallant Frenchmen Who Flew From Elvington'. This is a 31 mn 53 sec video . Well worth a look .

Craig. This response may be a little of topic but you may be able to help . I am searching for a photograph o Halifax Z5N taken late Dec '44 or early Jan,45. The crew are in flying gear and under a wing. The pilot was P/O Mervyn Rohrlach RAAF. The plane crashed Jan 6 th 1945 with the loss of all on board except my father , Flt Sgt Douglas Lawrence. Dad recall the photo being taken and we would love to locate a copy for him. Cheers John Lawrence

Hi Craig

Have been researching my uncle John Isaac Hoyle RCAF 426 squadron Linton-On-Ouse who was KIA 18th December 1944 whilst on ops over duisburg flying with RCAF crew. Have lots of info of that fateful night/morning let me know if you need any info for your work.
