Halifax V LK894 434 Sqn 30/31-08-'43

According to BCL from Chorley, this Bomber crashed 1,5 Km NW of the village of Kessenich (Belgium) on a trip to(?) Mönchengladbach. The crew of 8 (!)all KIA and buried at Heverlee War Cemetery.
Looking for more info regarding why this aricraft crashed (FLAK or Nightfighter), why 8 crewmembers and if possible finding next of kin.

Brain in neutral - Both Leaver and Bartlett were Pilots according to CWGC. 2nd Dickie it is
