This Met. Sqdn. Halifax was the last operational loss of 517 Sqdn. on Oct 20 1945. This Halifax had a similar fate as Halifax LW170 which was lost to the west of the Hebrides Is. Halifax NA248 also floated for almost 7 hours in UK coastal waters before sinking into the deep. The question is where???? This Halifax had no damage as it floated for an amazing length of time. Another question is -- did a tug try to tow this a/c --- and does anyone know approximate location.
