Iam doing some research into geographical features in Canada's north named in honour of Canadian fatal war casualties. F/O Burns of 433 Sqn was killed in action on 23 April 1944. He has a Lake in NWT named after him. Iam making a biography and hoping to obtain a picture of him. If anyone has a picture or knows where I might look it would be greatly appriciated.

F/O Burns and crew were aboard Halifax LV390 J-Joker - Hit by flak - fire started in rest position when east of Aachen. The Halifax exploded when the crew attempted to bail out. Crew killed in action were Burns (P), J.W. Dunford Nav, D. MacDougall A/B, A.S. Holmes r-A/G, J.P. Bedard F/Eng,and J. Desroches M/U ag. Only Sgt. T.N. Morris survived and became POW. You could search for T.N. Morris family for possible photo of his skipper. Hope you sme success! Rod Butson - Author of, Pride of the Porcupines - 433 Sqdn.
