Re: Love the Pool Noodle Idea

by South Of The Border (Login USBox)

I was told the noodles are sometimes used to make the legs wider as well, not in league play obviously. The foam of choice for ease of use I hear, are the foam pads used under sleeping bags as it's thin and cuts easy and can be glued. Not to mention that I can find it easily at Walmart! As far as Brown, he still makes uppers, pants, legs and jocks for box play. When I asked about customized gear (I'm looking into playing rec lax in the US where the CLA mentality is starting to creep in), the "B" brand wasn't very helpful there as they tend to push standard one size fits all situations. He on the other hand, is willing to customize though you do have to pay for the privilege of course. I am on the hunt for good used Boddam ProVent's in all black 20" and up should anyone know people who might be wanting to be rid of them as they are illegally large these days. The reason you don't see Brown gear sanctioned by the CLA is that he won't pay their "fees". I saw an account somewhere in cyberspace that the "B" company pays a hefty amount for that. That could be factored in the prices you pay as the "B" brand is higher of course over most other brands. In most cases however, it reflects higher costs to produce and they may well have them.
