Head held not so much high as partly submerged and vaguely unpleasantly damp, Captain Val watched the estranged green haired youth and his odd entourage vanish into the murky depths below, rocketing into the dank ocean waters like so many rocks jumbled together and packed tight in a twisted old sock.
He watched his reflection wondering if perhaps he should somehow follow and dual the female Selt for temporarily enamoring him or-
where WAS first mate Gespatcho?
From the bobbing ribbon, came an ominous ping.
Val glanced sharply to his side. Tall, dark and hairy- additionally, soggy- was treading water nearby.
He opened his mouth. Closed it. Swam over and knocked the brutish man over the head with a fist. Either to say- according to Matt translation- 'Pay attention!' or 'Dogfish pension!'
On the horizon- a rumbling of epic proportions. Both manshaped creatures gaped- quite like the aforementioned dogfish- and suddenly, as the white and red and pinkish blur passed, Matt felt himself thrust out of the water and harshly into a hard, dry seat.
Captain Val crowed triumphantly. He made frantic gestures to Matt that looked something like this:
And meant something likely along the lines of: '...HA'
Electronic beeping and technological blipping signaled all around them and both passengers noted that the S.S.S.S.S they were inside seemed to be suspiciously surrounded by...water?
Val gestured again and Matt understood. He, Val and- Camero?- were now inside a submarine. Somewhere, in the very back of his mind, the human heard a catchy jingle start ringing-
Robots in disguise. Along those lines, you see.
And so, with great gusto, Val charged the transformed S.S.S.S.S forward, speeding after the delving Selt and his unfortunate victims. Selt's bizarrely unnatural hair color shone like so much radioactive seaweed and the captain jabbed a finger at the youth beyond the safety of the ship.
The hunt was on!
For many a while our heroes did descend, deeper and deeper and just when the reader began to question how any of the submerged Jans, Selts and Qs were still functioning...
Sea vehicle and temporary villainess did stop as abruptly, garish, neon light flashed at them.
How...
Odd.
