I guess that I'm hanging onto this old board for as long as I can! It's going to be hard for me to change to the new one full time on Thursday. We had a very quick 38 week visit today. I've gained 1/2 pound (21 total), blood pressure was good, baby's heartbeat was good, and I'm dilated about 2. Not very thinned out yet, though, so dr says don't hold my breath about going into labor quite yet. She's reassuring though; she said even if I've had a few health issues during this pg, baby has been just fine along and she doesn't expect any surprises at delivery. I guess we're just going to play the waiting game.
A funny side note...I just had a few things for dh to do in the nursery last night, hang valances and a shelf. We have an old house so have lathe and plaster walls. He was driving in the screw for the shelf, and six inches to the right (a spot that of course won't be covered by the shelf) the wall broke! There is a piece of plaster that is ready to fall out and several cracks. We mudded it up and will have to paint over it. This is on our freshly painted wall. Gotta love these old houses!
Best wishes to all of you. Sheila, Perry, Kathy S and Trish--the race is on!!

Tami, I am excited for you and your family. I know you are anxious to meet your baby. I enjoyed the story about your little decorating mishap. It seems like all our projects turn into more than they should be too.
Yes, we are all anxious to meet this little one. DS has been kissing my tummy and rubbing it and trying to convince baby to come out. I hope to go early of course but keep telling myself it could easily be another couple of weeks. Hope you're doing well and feeling good!

I'd say your body's been up to getting itself good and ready if you're dialated to a 2 -- It REALLY could be any day now, eh?? How exciting!!! (And it does seem to be the trend on board here that many of the gals are going early!) Hoping and praying that VERY SOON you'll be holding that precious son or daughter of your's in your arms! (Just allow time for that paint to dry first though !) -- I can TOTALLY relate to "This Old House" woes!!! Let us know how things go! Have you decided on names yet???
In prayer -
This is truly a "This Old House" house. We've lived here for 8 years and seems like there is always a project going on. We love it though--all that "character". We've decided on a girl's name, Sophie Elizabeth (with possible changes to the middle name but we're sure about Sophie). We're still wavering on a boy's name. DH doesn't like my favorites and vice versa. The only name we kind of agree on is Maxwell Jerome (Jerome after dh's dad), but I'm still not sure. It won't be long and we'll have to make a decision. We knew what we were having with our 7 yo ds, and we still didn't have a name when he was born!! Take care, Meg. Hope those bugs are leaving your house!

How exciting!! 2cm wow gotta be a step in right direction!! It is so good to hear that your Dr does not think little one has been affected by your problems and you are nearly at the end of them too which is a blessing!! Sending labor vibes your way!!
I think I would have cried when part of wall broke!! How are your girls taking to their new sleeping arrangements? I am sure they are too excited by the little ones arrival to mind now. I too am struggling to let go of this board and will be quite sad when we have to go!! Guess it is my old age showing!! LOL Take care and keep well
I see that you're 3/4 of the way there--30 weeks!! Woo hoo! Can you believe how quickly the time has flown. Yes, I will certainly miss this board. I know we'll all be over at the new one, but it just doesn't seem as user-friendly as this one. Oh well, we'll adapt, I'm sure. Yes, the girls have adjusted very well to their new room. Our 5 yo has a tougher time settling to sleep and keeps her big sister awake, but it's improving. And other than the hole and cracks we need to fix now, the nursery is done. Hope you're enjoying your dh being home. Take care!!

I'm glad your appointment went well...2cm and OB doesn't think anythings going to happen. Watch we'll be wattling around at the end of the month thinking we were going to be early...oh dear I hope not. If it wasn't for my periodic bed rest, I don't now what I'd do.
I have my 37 weeker tomorrow, so well see what's going on down there. Take care and hope your not to uncomfortable...Trish
Speaking of waddling...I have to laugh. I start the day really well and walking like normal. But by 3 or so, I'm tired and the waddle appears! I know what you mean about the bed rest. I don't go to bed but sure do spend a lot of time on the couch with my feet up. Hope YOU'RE feeling well; these last few weeks get long, don't they! I'm eagerly waiting for news from you and your little one.

Tami, I know it has felt like forever, and it may seem that way for each day from now until you go into labor. But it won't be long, and how wonderful that the doctor thinks everything will go smoothly. Funny -- I worry that with 4 kids of my own, plus a boarder, plus the 2 older stepkids, the house will be falling down around my ears, but yours literally is!
I loved your comment about our house falling apart. Better it than me, I guess. I'm always warning our kids that they had better not jump too much--they might crash through the floor. Our house is 94 years old; the family we bought if from raised 10 children here, so it's seen its share of kids. Sounds like you have a pretty full, busy house too--isn't it great! Take care. And btw, thanks for all your wisdom and kind words when posting. I always look forward to your response on questions/concerns.

That's wonderful news! Ironically, we had our checkup today also. DP is 3 cm and 60% effaced. Everything is fine for us, too...heartbeat, blood pressure, etc. It's now just the waiting game, and I'm about to go crazy. I want it to be over, and at the same time, I'm so scared that I wish it were still months away. I just can't believe it's real. I can't believe that I'm gonna be somebody's dad. It sounds so strange. I guess you think it's silly, already having kids yourself. I don't really know what I was expecting (no pun intended), but I didn't think I'd have so many emotions. Okay, that's enough of me.
I'm happy you're doing so well, and I hope things are just as good for all of the other February moms-to-be!

It's always good to hear from you! And I'm glad to hear that "things" are progressing for your dp, although I'm a bit jealous. 3 cm is great for a first baby. And speaking of first babies, what you're feeling isn't silly at all!! I remember our first one sooooo well, all the anticipation, the nervousness, fear, excitement...it's wonderful. And when Marshall gets here, everything just expands. It's hard to describe, but those first few weeks after we had our first were just incredible. Both my dh and I loved those days. Our other babies were fun too, of course, but there is just something about that first one. Enjoy this time (I'm sure you are!!) Take care of you and dp, Perry. I'll be eager to hear news!

Glad things went well at the drs. The countdown begins! I enjoyed your decorating story. We started to build a dresser we got at Ikea---for another room then didn't use it (long story) so decided to use it for baby's room. Anyway, started building it a week ago and found that the 12 wooden dowels used in "step 2" were missing! Ikea is sending us new ones, but meanwhile this 6-drawer dresser sits half built in the room and I have no place to put baby's clothes so they are in a pile on the floor!
With our first baby, DH built our new crib in the family room, then couldn't fit it into the baby's room so had to take it apart and start all over again! It's always something.
Good luck over the next few days. I know what you mean about thinking every twinge might be "it". I'm really trying to sit down a lot because I'd like to wait until after Feb 15 (when my mom comes). I have my 38 week appt on thurs. I'll let you know what happens there! We're so close.
one more thing--my baby still moves around a LOT! I can't remember if my others moved so much at this late date...what about yours?
Yes, my baby is very active! I can't believe how much movement I'm still feeling, and it gets pretty uncomfortable sometimes, doesn't it?! I loved your story about the dressers. As if being pregnant isn't stressful enough, we have to deal with furniture and house issues too. Oh well, I guess our babies don't care if their clothes are on the floor or if there's a hole in their wall! Good luck tomorrow. I wonder if they'll check you again?

Hi Tami, it sounds like it won't be long now. I bet you just can't wait.
I can totally appreciate the wall thing. Once I went to put in a curtain rod and when I nailed in the holder, about 4 square feet of plaster just crumbled. What fun.
I hope you continue to feel well and that your little one arrives soon.
I'm glad I'm not alone with these old house stories. It's always something! Hope you're feeling well and not suffering from all the 3rd trimester aches and pains yet.

I went to my OB appointment this morning. I had a feeling he had dropped, but was hoping more was happening.
The OB did say he had dropped some, but my cervix is still closed. I'll go back on Monday and he wants to check the baby's weight again. Two weeks ago it was estimated at 7lb 15oz. He's seems to be getting big. He does not want me to go past my due date, but he also does not want to induce. Maybe something will happen over the weekend so when I go in Monday things will change.
Anyway, and this could work for you also, my SIL stated Monday is a full moon so that could be a plus to get these babies to us faster!
Never heard of the full moon thing -- too funny! I can just picture it... aaaoooooo...waaahh! Gives new meaning to the story of Esau, who was born hairy!
