I built this engine in the summer. It dyno'd 430 HP at 6800 RPM. Nothing very fancy, but it runs strong. It is an honest 302 CID.
SVO R-302 standard bore block
SCAT forged steel crank
Stock length Cat H-beam rods
NOS TRW old technology L2325 pistons
Custom ground Ultradyne solid flat tappet cam. ground to the 351C/351W firing order. Under .600 lift
BONE STOCK 4V heads. In fact, the exact same heads that I took off my 500 HP cleveland build up. Nothing but MPG intake port plates, and titanium intake valves. The heads were cut to raise the compression to a measured 12.0:1.
CompCam stainless roller rockers
Roush single plane intake, with the floor raised
Holley HP 750 DP carb
mechanical fuel pump
HV oil pump
Mels ignition blueprinted stock distributor firing a pertronix and MSD 6AL.
Head studs, and rocker girdles, and a Moroso underive crank pulley.
That is it. No big machining bills, no magic head porting. Instead, I spent a fortune on the block, and hope to never buy another one.
