408C 4V AT '70 Torino TIM

Here is my 408C stroker motor I am putting together.
I will list the specs. and pics. here, For anyone who is interested, tell me what you think!


I got the stroker kit from Mark & Heather McKeown of "MME Motorsports & Engineering".

4.00 stroke 4340 forged Scat crank
6" Scat 4340 H beam rods with 7/16 Arp 2000 Rod Bolts
4.010 ROSS 13.75-1 ratio forged pistions
Pro Products Balancer
Scat Flexplate
(All this Balanced through 8000 RPM)
Ford Motorsports double roller timing chain
Custom grind - Comp Cams -- Specs by Mark Mckeown --
Duration at .050 272 In. 276 Ex.
valve lift .697 In. .668 Ex.
Harland Sharp 1.8 Aluminum roller rockers
Comp Cams Solid lifters with EDM oiling hole
The Block is a 1972 4 Bolt main block
The Heads are 1970 quench chambers, with Manley severe
duty 1 piece SS valves
Comp Cams double valve spring
10 degree valve locks and retainers
teflon seals
Heads have been machined for 7/16 screw in studs &
guide plates
Comp cams forged 1 piece pushrods
High volume oil pump
ARP oil pump drive shaft
Milodon 9qt pan with Milodon pickup
Hooker headers 2" primarys 3' collectors
AED 1000CFM 4150 series Holley Carb
Torker intake
1/4 Berch wood carb. spacer
Holley mech. fuel pump with #8 line from pump to carb.

Fabricated aluminum sheet metal valve covers
aluminum water pump

Hey, sounds like a nasty combo. How is Mark to deal with, how about knowledge base. Any work done to the heads ie. flow, what type of HP? Tim

Mark and his wife are excellent to deal with, I talked to Mark on the phone about what I wanted to do. Then after a couple of weeks, I drove up to there shop to pickup the parts myself. The heads are stock, except for the valves and hardware. The motor should turn upwards in the range of 7200 - 7600 RPM. WE will see abought the horse power.

This is some of Marks work he did to this Scat forged 4340 crank to get the counter weights to clear the pistons.
