I think based on the few interviews he gave when Mumford was released that he is in Paris somewhere playing his piano for a living. He seemed to think the music industry was a bigger turn off than the movie biz and mentioned that he went to Paris after working on 1492 and stayed there a while. Or maybe he has gone on to something in the psychology world, didn't he also make references to that field in an interview? Isn't that part of the reason he chose to portray Mumford maybe??
Oh well - - there is my worthless opinion. However, I hope he changes his mind cuz he is very gifted and I miss watching him.
It is hard to find a good convincing actor his age these days.
By the way, thanks for starting this board, maybe it won't get as raunchy as the one that recently closed, I thought that one got out of hand and lost sight of its subject.
Take care all.
