London - Flick, Sidwell, Martin and Gaskin for sure, probably all in the top 4 rounds. Reynold will probably go later. Zapishny will be the interesting one... he is a late bloomer, though his lack of grit may scare some scouts away. Both of their goalies may go, though goalies are hard to project. Also, players like Van Esch and Donati on defence could get some interest last rounds.

Gaskin is hurt, playing high school football. no wey Reynolds gets picked, he can't skate, Zapishny and Kearns could both go middle rounds, both a bit small, but probubly not done growing. Martin will get piked by London, his dad works for thum and Flick and Gaskin will go in first 5 rounds. Sidwell could go first round.

C'mon Mr. Reynolds you have to be kidding. Your son can't skate, you've got to quit coming on here and blogging him to the scouts. He WON'T be drafted and you aren't helping!

I'm glad that Mr. Reynols listened and has stayed away from here. Although his boy has scored more than the Flick kid according to the stat sheet at the Silverstick? Seems unlikely, but when your dad is doing the statistics....anything can happen!

Re: London/Waterloo/Cambridge

December 29 2006, 3:09 AM

Hmm, I wonder if these are all jealous London parents... How obvious..... here is my view on the London kids.

Flick will likely be the first player selected from London. He has the size, strenght and offensive abilities to make him very attractive to most OHL teams. Unfotunately, this team has never had good coaching, and like most of the "star players", Mr. Flick needs a big-time attitude adjustment.

Sidwell will probably go next. He has the speed and quick hands to fit in well with the new, softer brand of hockey played in the OHL these days. Same attitude adjustment as Flick is required.

Gaskin, to be honest, he has never really done much to impress me. He is a big kid who can skate and handle the puck. He has all the skills a hockey player needs, and yet he never seems to accomplish anything during a game. He seems very "ho hum" about the game.

Coutts.... I don't know goalies. I only know they are very difficult to preoject, and are usually drafted later than they could be.

Martin.... my favourite. This is the perfect example of how to not use your talent. As much as I dislike him, he is probably the most talented player on the team... he has size, vision, creativity and a great set of hands. To go with that skill set, he has added selfishness, laziness, refusal to fight his own battles and is pretty much an all-around *** ****(hate to say that about a kid... but, it is true). He will likely get drafted by some team who doesn't know any better.

Reynolds, pretty much the opposite of Martin. This kid can't skate, can't shoot, can't pass....and yet still manages to be pretty effective. He will get drafted if scouts are watching closely... which they don't.

Zapishny will have a chance thanks to the new rules. He is very much a complete offensive threat. Size will always be a concern.. not only short, but thin too! He is pretty much as soft as a marshmellow too. Unlikely to be drafted, but may end up in Jr.B and get noticed by a Jr.A club later.

Van Esch is a solid 2-way defenceman. He is unlikey to get noticed, but will probably play Jr.B and maybe get some attention from JR.A then.

December 30 2006, 5:41 PM

Ok, if the team has never been well coached, why don't these players petition to play up a year in either Elgin or London?

That would make four teams with coaching that does not meet your dubiously high standards.

Don't see a problem with what I wrote unless you are the parent of one of those kids, and you see him through rose-coloured glasses. I stated my unbiased opinion - positive and negative things about all the players. No hockey player is perfect, they all have flaws.
