Tons of scouts.
Player of the game was 98 Holmberg.
Duchene was pointless because AP coaches double shifted a kid named Holmberg up the middle against Duchene the whole night.
Fastest kid I've seen play this year. He also scored some slick goals for AP.

So obviously, Central Ontario is more than just Duchene! Who were the best players for the Wolves?
What do you think their chances are this weekend at the OMHA's? |

Dushene held pointless, gee what a surprise!
I guess those who can hold him back should be going first round as well. If you can stop him you must be a good player as well.
Or maybe he isn't as good as you are all led to believe.
Proof is always in the pudding. |

A couple of points to consider - nice advertising from Holmberg on his kid. Kid does have good speed.
Holmberg shadowing Duchesne - left Carnevale open all night for 4 points. So what a great plan. Usually you put a plan to win the game - not to keep a player from scoring. So guess who won the game - Central - for the 2nd year in a row - great job by coach Poole for winning the big game again - same result as last season.
Duchesne played well but just moved the puck to the rest of the Central team who were open all night. Stoughton also played well for Central. Score would have been a lot higher - kudos to the Ajax goalie who played well. Left alone a lot - Central must have outshot Ajax 2-1 in shots and in scoring chances by at least 5 for every Ajax opportunity.
Lot's of scouts there... Carnevale showed them that he can play the game as well. good job. |

Nice self promotion from Carnevale and Stoughton.
You should be proud of yourself. |

The real story: Central played as a team, AP disorganized.
Dushene was sick as dog and still played well.
Central coach outcoached AP coaches again.
Central special teams outplayed AP special teams.
AP ends season on another dissappointing note.
Central the better team:end of story. |

Blah, Blah, Blah, Blah
You think we really give a crap.
A/P, Central, Du****, sick as a dog, ya okay. Now you are reduced to excuses.
I can name a dozen kids who play sick and injured, and produce!!!!

It was a heck of a game. Tons of scouts, even OHL Central Scouting there. This game was not won or lost by either coach. AP could have put the game on ice in the first period, but could only get 2 goals after controlling the play. AP goaltending was below par, couple of relatively weak goals.
Specials teams were the killer for AP. 3 power play goals against and none for.
Too bad there had to be a loser. I would rather watch that type of game than the leafs any night.
Hats off to both teams. |

Central is a very well coached team. They have one superstar and a group of hard working players. Will they beat the top teams in the age group? --> probably not, but they will persevere against teams like A/P who looked disorganized and panicked after the 1st period.
Carnevale had a great game. Central's defense did a great job of getting the puck out of their zone. Urbankiewicz was very good.
A/P Defense coughed up the puck too many times..Ginn in net was excellent after the 1st 2 goals. |

You want to see tons of scouts go see the Ice Dogs vs Marlies showdown. You get a few scouts to an OMHA game between two mediocre teams and everyone gets horny. The scouts only care about one player and thats Duschene. They only came out to see one player and thats Duschene. And the only player looking at that game was Dushene. Central, without Duschene, gets blown out of the water by midpac GTHL teams. |

Well I don't know or care much for the GTHL ( no disrespect ) but I find it interesting in that there were about 10-15 scouts at the last AP/Central game, and I don't think they were there to see Duchene. They already know what he can do, so they are looking at others players, pure and simple. |

Yes it is. The proof always IS in the pudding.
And the sweetest pudding of the year for you has to be Duchene scoring 3 goals against Barrie to put his team into the OMHA title game and the OHL Cup.

It was disgusting. Their defence #4 teed it up several times for Dushene to put into the back of the net. Thanks #4 the go for gold was quite nice. |

Why are you all still talking about Ajax Pickering - they are toast...
out played - out coached - their parents seemed glad it was over.
They have average talent - work hard - forwards are hard workers - Ramsay is their star forward.
Defense - very average except for Ramkema and Jackiw who are studs
Central on the other hand - look where they are - in the gold medal game.
Duschene and his buddies are taking over the OMHA finals.
