Most of the US kids will go the US hockey route that is why they are late picks.
Think before you post. |

These are 1st rate players that could make a huge impact if they do decide to play here, especially the US kids. Stranger things have happened than a hockey player changing his mind. |

Patrick Stillar from Burlington going in the 11th round to the Soo is one of the biggest steals in this draft. The Soo coaches won't beleive their eyes when they see this kid as a 11th rounder!!! |

Has there ever been a kid in the history of the OHL who has made it to the U-17 training camp and never get drafted? I want to know if i'm the first. So of it's basically the top 80 kids there I don't see how that works out. |

THE STEALS ARE THE ONES WHO GOT PICKED IN LATER ROUNDS BECAUSE OF NCAA COMMITMENTS BUT IF THEY CHANGE THEIR MINDS AND COME BACK THE OHL TEAM WINS! |
|
Anonymous (no login) 70.54.54.27 | Re: Steals | May 7 2007, 1:49 PM |
Visca was projected to go earlier. Which team back out of their committment. And why?
He was supposed to go to Peterborough, but the coaches son is going instead. Hmmmmmm, thats laughable.
Saginaw steal? Mommy won't let him go anyways. |

Whittle top local pick; Highlanders centre taken in 9th round of OHL draft
BILL WALKER / Sun Times sports editor Sports - Monday, May 07, 2007 @ 08:00
Greg Whittle is admittedly a long shot to play in the Ontario Hockey League next season, but the Kingston Frontenacs prospect is putting off plans to play junior hockey locally so he can take a run at the OHL this fall.
The 16-year-old Owen Sound native has been offered spots with the junior-A Collingwood Blues and the junior-B Owen Sound Greys but "right now I want to try and play for Kingston, so that's my real goal right now," Whittle said Saturday after being selected in the ninth round, 169th overall, by the Frontenacs in the OHL priority draft.
The former Grey-Bruce Highlanders minor midget centre is spending the summer training with Owen Sound Attack assistant coach Dave Bell in preparation for next season.
"I'm going to work on my weight training so I can get stronger, and fitness and quick feet and snap shots so I can get the puck away quicker," said Whittle, who scored 18 goals and added 44 assists in 56 AAA games last season.
Whittle credited his selection in the draft to Highlanders coach Brian Warrilow, who's now the Greys' general manager.
"He really pushed me the last two years and he really encouraged me to go to the next step in junior hockey," said the six-foot-two, 180-pound Whittle. "He was one of the key components to our team."

Buddy, stop with your nonsense. No one cares. There are boys on here that are undrafted because of politics and bull****. Stop ramming down their throats.
Greg Whittle got there because of your nonsense. Bullcrap, you get the drift.
Do you own the paper? Do you know someone there? Or did you submit the article yourself? |

The self promotion on here is unbeliveable!
I guess I am bitter. bitter for all those boys who were screwed and mistreated by people like him. Not just Grey Bruce.
Many kids and many centres.

When does the blame get put on the parents and players??
There are kids out there that are lazy, won't listen, uncoachable, unmanageable, lack focus, lack character, lack mental toughness, won't play through pain, hates pressure, won't let himself be challenged on and on and on. There are also kids that are dunb in school, troublemakers, run with the wrong crowd, and into stuff they shouldn't be into.
Maybe, some of these should-a-beens just aren't OHL caliber people, let alone hockey players. |

ramkema isnt over rated at all |
|
Anonymous (no login) 65.254.55.226 | Re: Steals | May 16 2007, 9:13 AM |
ramkema - good skater and good shot, but can\\\'t think the game, is disorganized (can\\\'t hit passes)
ramsay - good hands, but can\\\'t skate, and is too soft to play in traffic and won\\\'t go into the corners
like most kids in the draft ... they probably had friends or agents hyping them over other kids |
