RAMS Richmond Hill Jr. A Hockey - Markham Waxers

From: D Barlow (d.barlow_omha@hotmail.com)
It has come my attention that The Markham Waxers Midget AAA are using a player that played 1 game in the GMHL this season.
#2 Jamie Perry. Here is a link to their web site. http:/ramshockey.com/inside.php?pid=4 .They forgot to take it off. but probably will very soon. I also included a copy by email.(see attachment) It is being investigated by Bill Needles of the OMHA and Doug Babcock dbabcock@omha.net .

The OHMA, OHF, and Hockey Canada are very serious about not allowing players to play in the GMHL and the OHMA in the same season.

If this is allowed, then it will set a precedent for all other teams to sign players presently playing in the GMHL. See link to OMHA to see rule below.

OMHA Rule

Any games in which a GMHL player participated could be forfeited to the opposing team.

I am presenly contacting other teams in the ETA about this problem. If you have any concerns or questions please contact your OMHA rep directly

This is the first time the rule is being tested, if this one squeaks through it should open the door for players to play in both leagues

Everyone knows he played only one game and backed out, should a player be spanked for the rest of this year and next year just because he made a mistake to play one game in the GMHL. There is a lot of players who have made the same mistake and are trapped to stay in the GMHL, with the way the CAHA have set the rules. The GMHL should be excepted as a Jr. B league, not a Jr. A league, and have player affiliates with minor hockey and Jr A.
The real question is will the CAHA open the door or slam it shut!

You got nothing better to do ? If this is true a copy of the game sheet in question will solve it.
But since there has been no formal annoucement how do you explain that Mr. Barlow.

Only a clean game sheet will clear this player now
They should all be allowed to play before nov 15, 2007 if they leave, This would hurt the GMHL

Nov 15th is a date that most players should know if they are going play or sit on the bench. There is no reason to drag a player till xmas and cut them.

November 15th is the last day a player can be released by a GTHL club.

This is not about blocking one player, but about helping other players who are trapped in the GMHL Jr League. This will will be known as the Perry rule! Thank You Jamie for being the first to get through! It is written!

Re: Door is Wide Open

It really is a sad state of affairs when you folks would rather execute your powers over the freedom of players and parents to choose where they'd like to play rather than simply concentrate your efforts on making your own program so strong and so accommodating that more people would be convinced that sanctioned hockey is the only place to be.

You continue to demonstrate your ineptitude in handling these affairs and this childish approach to protecting your territory, a territory you've had all to yourselves for ever. You don't even seem to comprehend that it's your own effort - or should I say lack thereof - to exert your control that pushes more and more people to our side of the fence!

The stories that continue to pour in day after day after day - about players being dragged along through the tryout process, sitting on the bench game after game, getting cut well into the season with no where decent left to play - well the proof is in the pudding - we virtually doubled in size!

Well, we continue to grow, continue to demonstrate our unique brand of commitment, development, exposure, etc., all the while, you wannabe hockey executives appear to everyone as nothing but a little boys club meeting in a tree house once a week to determine how you're going to bully the neighbourhood.

What a pathetic bunch you are!

PS Oh, we're probably growing to at least 18 teams next year, so if you could take your GMHL warning notice and keep it on the front page of all sanctioned hockey websites, we'd really appreciate it. You just can't buy advertising like that!

Actually, I meant to put my name on it, like I ALWAYS PUT MY NAME ON IT, unlike so many of you who aren't prepared to openly stand behind your words.

But just so there's no mistake.

Marshall Uretsky
President
Toronto Canada Moose Jr. A Hockey Club

PS 1 L as in Marshal denotes a rank or position, or didn't you know that? Regardless, still pathetic!

And just so the folks out there are clear, once again, about the misinformation you sanctioned guys are spewing - it IS NOT an additional suspension or an automatic 2 year or life ban if you play in our league. If a player comes without signing any sanctioned card, or signs a card but DOES get a release before coming over, you are only affected in this current season.

The number of people that attended various tryouts and informed us that they were being told 2 years or life was astronomical!!! Trust me folks, people with kids in the game ARE seeing the forest through the trees.

IF this had been a player hoping to for NCAA and the OHL states the kid never played was on a game sheet or even the website, the Clearinghouse would not take it at face value...good thing this was not the NCAA or he would be screwed.
