Re: Perdictions For 2nd Round.....

February 25 2008, 6:14 PM

#1 Kings had difficulty getting past #8 Rangers.

#4 Rebels are rebounding against #5 Wings
(Where is Muise?) I think that the winner of the Wings Rebels series will go to the final.

#2 Marlies easily dispensed with #7 Senators

#6 Majors had little problem knocking off #3 Reps

This should be a barn burner series. Marlies had difficulty with Majors in regular season
(2 ties and a one goal winner early on.)

I like the Majors over the Marlies.

I Predict Wings and Majors in the final

agree, its all up for grabs;

marlies vs mark, marlies looked good in all but first game vs sens. mark has played well of late, and they are a little deeper than sens, but not deep enough. marlies in 6.

vk vs rebs/rw:

rebs / rw series has suddenly gotten tighter, but i still think rw will survive. if they do, vk vs rw will be very good match, tough to call. vk either doesn't care about scoring or can't score, not sure which. rw are very offense minded, much less disciplined in their own end. vk has kept other teams off the scoreboard all yr. can they keep it up? posts in this forum have vk using callups vs nyr; not a good sign if true. rw appear to be going with their best 10 skaters a lot, and it seems to work for them. hell i don't know, but i'll say rw in 6. if rebs beat rw, i'll pick vk in 6 over rebs.

Majors will have more guns coming from the MM Majors shortly.Marlies may have the cuts from St. Mikes but Majors have 6 players to choose from the minor midgets.I think It will be an interesting series.

If a coach is looking at Minor Midgets to save the day then at least one of two things can be said. The Midget loop sucks &/or the coach has done f-uck all positive with his team if he needs younger kids to bring them to the promised land.

P.S. Any coach that replaces his own players with call-ups is an a-sshole & should be castrated with a dull skate.

I think there was no mention of replacing minor midget player's for midget player's.What was said was that if there was roster space they can add player's.Also you have to consider injuries.I believe that all the clubs remaining excluding Markham there rosters are maxed out.

Last years JC's used O'Reilly for the last half dozen games of the regular season and used him extensively for the entire play-offs. He killed penalities and lead their power play. Call-ups should not get more ice time than your regulars. Where is the sportsmanship in that? That's why there shouldn't be this rule in AAA that you have to call up from your younger players. The rule should change to a call-up should be coming from your AA affiliate. That would make it fair and equitable for everyone.

aaa teams don't have aa affiliates. in fact the gthl rules specifically say that aaa teams can't be connected to aa or a teams. the call up rule is ok; lots of valid reasons why a team may need call ups. the problem, like always, is not the rules; the problem is coaches and parents who continue to find ways to abuse the rules for their own benefit with no consideration to the kids involved.

mark majors cannot draw from the mark aa and a teams. nyr also cannot draw from goulding park. they can only have an ap from a team within their own aaa club. yes, omha is diff; and omha aaa team can use ap's from anyone in their centre, as well as from the aaa team one age group below.

that was o'reilly, a special case as the future #1 pick. any m coach who uses mm call-ups in the playoffs, unless of injuries, a) is desperate, b) not very smart, c) cares more about himself then his regular players d) risks upsetting team chemistry. fer what? ask vk coach...
way to beat vk is to key in on 14 and 46 who are overplayed as is and it almost cost them vs nyr

I'm retired cupcake. It was probably a higher level than you or most of the coaches ever played.

After a promising year of Midget last year, this year proved to be a big disappointment. Ask any of the OHA or OHL scouts, they can't believe it's the same league, just one year later.

I was talking to an OHL scout yesterday who told me that the '92's are much weaker the '91's. He mentioned that the JC's have about 7 players, Marlies 4 players, Wings 3, Nats 3, Markham 2 and not much after that. He said it's the weakest in recent memory. Is the GTHL getting weaker?

1991s

February 28 2008, 12:51 PM

Dear Elite players,

This post is directed to all elite 1991 born players from Ontario. Since OneHockey do not have a team in your Province this year, you are entitle to apply and may join an all American team.

OneHockey offers great exposure and TJ Brennan was drafted to the Buffalo Sabers last year. He was discovered at OneHockey by the St John Fod Devils back in 2006! Unprotected Ontario Major League players, this could be you this year...

In 2008, we are happy to say that 4 teams from Ontario are entering our AAA Summer Tournament.
The word is out in Ontario and OneHockey has built a great reputation!

Teams are 2000 & 1999 with Pro Tips and two 1992 teams.

1991 Division

America (all American team/NHL coach)
Can-USA (all American team/NHL coach)
Canada (all American team/NHL coach) ONTARIO players this could be your team
California
Massachusetts
Maryland
Michigan
New Jersey
Ohio
Pennsylvania
USA (all American team)
Slovakia (TBD)

Selected players will join one of our all American team coached by a former NHL player. OneHockey offers all American Teams to all elite players without a local State team.

All interested players must fill out a resume form, which is posted on our web site (www.onehockey.com)

Independent players from many reputated AAA programs (take a peak below) have applied and have been signed with Team OneHockey USA, America, Can-USA, Canada or C7P (Chip & Pepper);
Ontario Northern Predators AAA (Canada), Surrey Lightnings Midget AAA (Canada), Florida Jr. Panthers, Caronport Cougars Midget AAA (Canada), Detroit Honey Baked (USA), Atlantic All Stars 98 (Eastern Canada), Boyle Pee-Wee/CanWest AAA 94's (Alberta, Canada), Windsor Junior Spitfires AAA 94's (Canada), Boston Jr. Bruins (USA) and many more...

For those that don't know much about OneHockey, we are entering our fifth summer and will host over 120 teams this year! We offer, according to many, the world's best organized tournament and great competitive (AAA) hockey. Players and teams from Canada, Czech Republic, Ukraine, Sweden, Russia and the U.S participate in 2007 and we expect more countries to join this year! Germany has just signed at the 95 level!

Players sending resumes MUST include two references in order for us to make sure they are AAA/elite level players. The resume form is very important to us in order to make sure all players are elites and able to compete.

Teams are filling up quick...

Call anytime - 888-784-6444

The Kings have nothing up front their back end way way overrated.Goalies are average at best. The Wings have more skilled forwards and defence. The biggest knock on the wings is they can't stay out of the box and play a discipline game.End of the day wings should win.The coaches on both teams are probably at par.

Redwings win game 2. Dumbest thing i've seen by a coach this year, they put THEIR captain on muise the whole game, he wasent even interested in the puck. Oh and to top it all off Muise still ended up scoring. wings keep playing like this there going to win. Kings keep focusing on muise and not winning the game, there going to lose.

Rebels look better with every Red Wings win, the Red Wings and Rebels were the two best teams in the league, they both lost too many points to 9-12 place teams to finish 1st and 2nd, and that's why they met first round, these two teams should have met in the finals, and not the first round. Ask either coach and they will tell you the same thing, their toughest series was the first round regardless of what happens the rest of the way for the Red Wings.

uh, yeah, ok....

so, if you lose to the 9-12 place teams, and you finish FOURTH and FIFTH in the league, you're still the best, because.... huh? i don't get it.

oh, and if you finished FOURTH and you get beat out by the FIFTH place team in the FIRST round, and the fifth place team plays well in the following rounds, that means YOU are a good team???? gee, doesn't it mean the FIFTH place team is good? and doesn't it mean you finished fourth, LOST in round one, and are done????

seasons over boys. vics packing up his tent, not coming back next year. money kids are going to the blades. tall kids dad will probably hang around this forum to make a few posts about how he coulda saved the day in net.

FC will probably be hanging out at the Plymouth Whalers rink. I heard he is buddies with the GM & he'll probably either latch on in some capacity or just become a complete annoyance as he promotes the **** out of his son for the NHL draft.

Vics back with the Rebels? It will probably be an all 92 team as contrary to what Vic would like you to believe his players have zero respect for him. Sure a few of Vics favourites would probably stay with him if they had to, but their dads will be looking to buy a spot on some kind of Junior team. The rest of them are tired of his show and will play as far away from him as they can get.

March 15 2008, 1:02 AM

Red Wings & Rebels end 4th & 5th.

Rebels out 1st round.

Red Wings out 2nd round.

Vic Logic
-the Red Wings and Rebels were the two best teams in the league,

-these two teams should have met in the finals, and not the first round. Ask either coach and they will tell you the same thing,

If they were the best 2 teams & they should have met in the finals then maybe their coaching was $hit.
