"3-1 GOING INTO THE 3RD FOR REBELS AND REDWINGS WIN 5-3"

What happened to Vic being the best coach in the league? Losing in the 1st round & to give up a lead like this in the 6th game of a series. Does not sound like a top coach.

Well I hope his favourite players enjoyed all their extra icetime & I hope the extra promises & cash you fed Vic was worth the 6 more games you got to play than the lowly Flyers.

Vic has no clue what a team concept is & his only concern is what he will personally gain at the expense of his other players. You win as a team & you lose as an ass sucking bunch of selfish individualistic prima-donnas. Led by Vic himself.

It was D'Orazio and he is the reason the game was even close.

I wasn't even at the game, but I know enough about the league and the two teams involved. They are both evenly matched teams forwards, defencemen and goaltending. Neither team has the edge when it comes to personel. I will say this, 3-1 going into the third period, and you give up 4 goals?? That is not a coaching problem. Team defence is what wins games and the puck stops with the goaltender. Fair or unfair it is a reality of the position.

some rebels D is big but sloooooow....too many cheeseburgers...? that likely led to losing the game...if a team gives up 4 goals in the third period after leading 3-1 going in, that idicates an inability of the coach to respond to what was happening...

For you faqing idiots who were not at the game.....the Rebels missed a breakaway and an open net in the first 5 minutes of the 3rd period....I guess that has to do with coaching. Could Vic have coached better in the series, he would probablyu tell he could have, but the bottom line, it wasn't the coaches fault for the loss last night, nor was it the players fault for losing last night. The Red Wings are a very good team, and they, when it was all said and done were the better team. PLain and simple.

Yea it was not Vics fault. It was those slow defenceman & the forwrds not scoring. Vic was the greatest. You can NOT blame him just cuz he played the same kids over & over again no matter how inaffective they were. He gave them the chance but they never responded.

Re: Best Coach

Actually for a Midget program, it was one of the best in the city. They played 65 games or so this season, payed the lowest rate in the city to play Midget "AAA" hockey at just over $3700.00 per player. You can say whatever it is that you want, my bet is 3/4 of the team is moving on to junior next year, as was the case with his Midget team the year before. Say what you want about him, so they lost in the first round, look at some of the provincial junior teams that are struggling in their first round of the playoffs, Newmarket Hurricanes, hosting Dudley Hewitt Cup out first round, Vaughan Vipers out first round, St. Mike's struggling in their first round, Huntsville struggling in their first round, so it happens everywhere. Cosmo Nardone who had won it, 4 years in a row with the '91 age group, bowed out in the first round to a 6th place team....go figure, nobody ripping him a new *******.

If you looked at the stats from the regular season of both the Red Wings and Rebels, they both finished with 42 points, both scored 112 each and both gave up 79 goals against, their season series, 1-0-2 for the Rebels, with the Rebels win coming late in the game, so there really wasn't much between the teams. The Red Wings had a few players back from last years midget(5-6) team and the Rebels had one returning player. These were the best two teams in midget this year and they met first round. They both lost points to teams that finsihed 9-12 in the standings, the Rebels losing 7 points and the Red Wings 8, They both pick up those points and they finish 1-2 in the standings, that was the difference.

Vaughan will soon find out how good the Red Wings are and whoever sees them in the finals will find out how good they are, if and only if the Red Wings can stay disciplined for longer than 2-3 games.

During the season when we faced the Rebels, the bigger goaltender was tougher to beat. Just my opinion.

Speaking of goaltenders, the best is with the Marlies. That's who I'm picking to win it.

If Vic and Lonnie are in bed together then by deductive logic Mrs. Chiapetta is in bed with them both burning bunneys on the stove asking them both, "A I pretty?"

Are you insane? Not everyone has an Uncle Pirri that will give them a spot. I doubt even Tune would want most of these players on the team he owns. I know the Junior league is corrupt so some of the Rebel parents would feel right at home. But the players just are not that good & regardless of the corruption, if even 1/3 of the team made Junior I would be surprised.

Hey 207.236.90.177 also known as Vic

March 1 2008, 4:47 PM

You just can't stop bull****ting can you. Do you even notice when you are lying or has it just become so normal you can't tell anymore.

A.- you said 3/4 of last years Midget team are playing Junior -
Ahh yea okay, I call Bull****

B.- you mentioned some of the Junior teams -
It's actually the 2nd round you are talking about, but they did have a bye. Maybe the bye is the real problem with those teams. Poor Frank went out in 4 games. Have you been comforting him?

C.- you mentioned Cosmo lost in the 1st round & nobody is ripping him a new one. -
Maybe it's because unlike you, he wasn't on here or in the rinks claiming he was the best coach or that he had the best team

D.- You mentioned the Rebels & Redwings were the best 2 teams. -
See my earlier response to -C- & -A- as well. I think the Red Wings are the best team, but would place the Rebels in 6th by the end of the season. In other words - YA GOT WEAKER!!

16 roster spots
so I guess it was 9 of 16

Chris Gard-Collingwood
Nick Chiappetta-Streetsville
Aaron Stacey-Vaughan
Matthew Russo-St. Mike's Majors
Matt Mihalic-Coburg
Justin Basso-Milton
Kevin Caister-Milton
Wesley Carr-GMJHL
Corey Davis

Not quite the 3/4 but I think he was close enough.

I won't bother getting into this pissing contest, but I'll give some information on the players mentioned above.

Chris Gard-Collingwood - still there

Nick Chiappetta-Streetsville - still there

Aaron Stacey-Vaughan - let go by Vaughan, only played 7 games of Junior

Matthew Russo-St. Mike's Majors - still there - only played Midget last year because one of Stouffville's owners was having a hissy fit that they wanted Russo instead of his son

Matt Mihalic-Coburg - let go by Coburg, played 11 games & is now with Waxers Midgets

Justin Basso-Milton - still there, legitimate player

Kevin Caister-Milton - still there & legitimate player, played High School hockey with Mount Carmel & apparently played with the Rebels for less than a month

Wesley Carr-GMJHL - The GMJHL, if you're 15 & have $6000 you can play there. Not what I would call Junior hockey.

Corey Davis - played 1 game with Hamilton

I would only count Gard, Chiapetta, Russo, Basso & Caister (even though he was with the Rebels for only a little time).

Call me crazy but, I don't consider the GMJHL as Junior. Since the others were let go by Junior clubs so early, it kind of says to me they are not playing Junior.

So that is 5 players in Junior & I would consider most Midget rosters to be more like 17-19 players.

The original post was how many went to Junior, don't go looking for loopholes...

Played 1 game or entire season, they all signed junior cards prior to the season starting, so they all made junior teams. Why bother getting into a pissing contest, 9 of 16 players signed to play junior at the beginning of the year, that was the case and point, so don't go looking for excuses, and the roster was 16 skaters not 19.

The dwarf continues to play his FC mini-me routine. Not allowed to coach at the Junior A level he scratches out an exsistence by taking money from those who want their kids to have all the focus and taking unsuspecting players and parents along for his ride of deceit. One has to ask why he wouldn't play all his players in the playoffs.

He is what is wrong with minor hockey and the Rebel Organisation should be horrified. Maybe now that one of their directors, everyone knows who that is, has had his son on a pedestal a year just maybe the dwarf's usefullness may be over and he can go back under the rock that he climbed out of. Hopefully he will not be back next year in any capacity in hockey.

Sure. Tune probably plowed $$$ into the team. He usually does put lots of $$ into his sons team. In exchange, vic takes Tune and his pal Santini, and gets the usual promises from Tune about how he'll do something for him at the Jr hockey ranks. And, he has to put up with Gary telling him what to do.

I doubt Gary would take vic to the blades, but even if he was thinking about it, vic probably screwed himself anyway. Garys son didn't seem to get much ice in the playoffs, and Santini didn't seem to get regular shifts either. My guess, Tune's not happy with the deal.
