Egg Nog ŕ la SPLENDA

SPLENDAŽ RECIPE

"Elegant Eggnog"

Makes: 15 (4-ounce) servings

Preparation Time: 20 minutes

Chill Time: 3 hours

INGREDIENTS:

1 cup SPLENDAŽ, Granular

1 tablespoon arrowroot or cornstarch

1 teaspoon ground nutmeg

7 egg yolks

4 cups milk

2 cups fat-free half and half

2 tablespoons vanilla extract (or 1 cup dark rum)

DIRECTIONS:

1. MIX together first 3 ingredients in a large heavy saucepan. Set aside.

2. WHISK egg yolks; add to SPLENDAŽ Granular mixture whisking until

blended. Gradually whisk in milk.

3. COOK over low heat, whisking constantly until the temperature reaches

175° approximately (5 to 8 minutes). Remove from heat and whisk in half

and half; cool.

4. COVER and chill 3 hours or up to 3 days. Stir in rum or vanilla just before

serving.

This recipe, when compared to a traditional full fat, full sugar version,

has a 64% reduction in calories, a 80% reduction in fat, a 61% reduction

in carbohydrates, and a 75% reduction in sugars!
