How can one describe such a great musician, song writer and performer .. Neil doesnt have to try .. he walks on stage and just has to stand there and the audience is captivated in anticipation of what he is to bring forth ... Never, will there be another Neil Diamond .. one who has been for many years and for years to come .. he can never fade away .. His music is extrememly verstatile, whilst his manner and presentation remains the same .. No one in the music world can compare with his musical talent and this wonderful gift he shares with us all .. Thankyou God for the gift you have given and I pray Neil will seek your face and come to know you personally to witness in his music for you ... Amen

Recently I posted a message on www.iaisnd.com about Terri Schiavo and it was pulled off the site. It was a very nice message and did not in any way defame or offend anyone. It was removed, yet another fan, a regular poster went on to discuss the school shooting in Minnesota and what do you know? It was allowed to stay. Because of the illogical mind of one of the board's moderators, I won't mention names but will tell you unless your opinion is hers, you are removed and your access to their site is denied. So don't believe the what they post about their site being the friendliest message board on the web. It's a lie! I am here to tell you that the www.iaisnd.com site is about censorship and running posters off the site. I feel sorry for the people being deceived by this site and its group of off-the-wall posters. One woman has a "Neildream" every other day. C'mon I have dreams every day, but I know that it is rare to dream the same dream twice let alone every other night. There is one fan there who posts a "Neil poem" every day. The people there are so nuts and so off their rockers, that Neil Diamond should be careful. If one of these crazy posters approaches him on the street, I home Neil Diamond is armed for his own protection. I read one post that a fan was rallying everyone to get together across the world to have a barbecue chicken dinner on the same day at the same time, and then chat with other fans on what they ate and share their Neil Diamond memories. Can we say "Obssess much?" At least the posters here are normal people with lives. There is one poster there who replies to EVERY single message, every day. My God, talk about getting a life. I like Neil Diamond's songs, but I have this really moronic thing I do called thinking that makes me think some fans are just too far gone. Please show the moderators of this site that censorship and denying people access to their site because your view may not be theirs is nothing short of unconstitutional.

" Once in a lifetime there is one act that stands out from the rest. The one that looks the spitting image of the person they are impersonating. One that, as soon as they open their mouth you honestly believe it is the real thing. We have found that one person who gives a unique and outstanding performance of one of the world's greatest and most popular stars....Canadian entertainer Bobby Bruce."

Starring Bobby Bruce as Nearly Neil
Bobby Bruce is an electrifying performer who has spent the last nine years rocking thousands of screaming fans throughout North America, Australia and South East Asia with his amazing tribute to Neil Diamond.
A “Legend” was born in Toronto when Bobby’s incomparable talent for impersonating Neil Diamond was finally realized in 1994. He has never looked back. Bobby has played with some of the biggest shows in the business including a ten-month tour of the US with Las Vegas based Legend’s in Concert, and two tours of Australia with Legends of Rock.
Bobby has performed at some of the best venues including the Toronto Skydome, selling out Vancouver’s Commodore Ballroom and onboard several luxury liners at sea in the South Pacific. Bobby has played for some very impressive audiences, from corporate giants to the King and Queen of Malaysia - and let us not forget his largest audience to date - 30,000 people in Calgary. From far off locations, such as Kota Kinabalu on the island of Borneo, to Maui, to Australia (where he earned his moniker - the Australian press dubbing him "Nearly Neil”), to more local locales such as Atlantic City, Branson, Missouri, and throughout Canada, whether in a soft seat Theatre, to a crowded night club, or to the Royal family, everyone enjoys Bobby’s shows.
In spring of 2002, Artizan Productions, a Vancouver based film company released “MOCKSTARS,” a feature length documentary about Canadian tribute artists. Bobby had been an integral part of their one million dollar budget pitch at the 2000 Banff Television Festival. MOCKSTARS enjoyed its worldwide television premiere on May 14, 2002 on Bravo in Canada. MOCKSTARS has rerun several times and also aired on television in New Zealand.
Bobby is the consummate entertainer, always looking for new ways to express himself onstage. He not only shines as Nearly Neil he outdoes himself as a myriad of outrageous characters in The Shagadelic Swingers, a musical tribute to the Austin Powers movies – which just completed a tour of Bosnia in July of 2003 entertaining NATO and the Canadian troops stationed there. Rounding out the year, in the Fall of 2003 Nearly Neil and the Solitary Band headlined their first National tour of New Zealand.
More recently Bobby has helped create and produce several new shows for the newly opened River Rock Casino in Richmond, BC. Great Canadian Bandstand, features comedy bits and hits from top Canadian artists. AM/FM – Every style across the dial, features music spanning from the 1960s through to the 1990s.
2004 also marks the beginning of Bobby Bruce’s first self titled show “Bobby Bruce – My Life” In this show Bobby shares the story of how he became Nearly Neil though his original music, and he performs some of his favourite cover songs from the artists that have influenced him personally and professionally.

Patricia-
Interesting find. I bought thier CD form www.neildiamondtribute.com. I haven't been into "new" music for the last 10 years, because the writing out there sucks for the most part. I listen to CD often and it gets better and better each time. Who would have ever though ther'd be a heavy metal Neil Diamond??!
I think Neil's music has expanded to unchartered territory and I think this band will become very noticible soon. Has anyone heard their version of Longefellow Serande on the radio ? Somebody really should start pushing these guys on the air.
The formula reminds me of Dred Zeppelin.
The singer reminds me of David Coverdale, but I see what you mean about David Lee Roth for sure.
Brother Love's website is cool and you can downlode Serenade. Anyone who likes well written heavy rock will want to grab this recording.

..at least not in my interpretation. I believe it's an imaginary friend who filled his lonely moments. The lyrics clearly describe her as a "young girl with fire".

Russell Watson performs "Sweet Caroline" for Caroline Rhea
by Dawn
Hey, Everyone! First of all, I want you to know that because of my father's love for Neil Diamond's music, I LOVE Neil's songs. My favorites are probably "Song Sung Blue," "Coming to America," and "Sweet Caroline".
I don't know if you all saw the Caroline Rhea Show on October 3rd when British tenor Russell Watson was on the show. He sang what looked like an impromptu rendition of Neil's "Sweet Caroline" for Ms. Rhea. And she asked him to record it for use as her new theme song. (the theme song was originally instrumental). Anyway, it was wonderful and the audience had fun with it, too. Goes to show that those songs are still loved. If you all are not familiar with Russell, please look into him. He recently released his second album called "Encore". His website is http://www.RussellWatson.com.
Thanks for listening!

suggestions you have would be really appreciated.
Thanks,

Hi Christi,
My soon to be sister in law is looking for a wedding song by Neil Diamond too. Did you find one? She heard one on the radio it was written by Neil Diamond and Tom Shapiro, titled Merry Me. We dont know who sang it but it is beautiful. We are unable to find CD or anything on it. Have you ever heard of it? If so would you e-mail me. I would really like to find it for her.
Thank You,
Carolyn

There was a time when I was young
The world looked bright, new songs were sung
And then a cloud came down and hovered over me
You came along then with your smile
You stayed and talked with me a while
Your smile the sunshine on my darkened sea
My heart was lifted, you can tell
I fell in love with you and well
My whole world brightened up right there and then
But something happened to that light
That first and precious love so bright
And I was plunged into darkness once again
So tell me where the hell have you been all this time
When you were here you know I thought that you were mine
But you ran away and left me here alone
Wondering if you’re ever, ever coming home
So though the years passed long and slow
I never had the chance to let you know
Just what, your eyes and sparkling smile meant to me
It made my heart beat oh so fast
If I had known it wouldn’t last
I guess I’d have never, ever let you get to me
But you got in and stole my heart
And though for years we’ve been apart
I still retain the hope that one day very soon
You’ll walk back into my life again
And rid this broken heart of pain
And let me tell ya, that day can’t come too soon
So tell me where the hell have you been all this time
When you were here you know I thought that you were mine
But you ran away and left me here alone
Wondering if you’re ever, ever coming home
Sometime I find it’s hard to carry on
My friends all tell me I had got you wrong
But I know deep inside my heart our love true
And so I live in hope that you’ll come back to me
It’s the only hope I have why can’t you see
And listen to me when I say my only love is you
Some of you will already be aware, others will not, that I have been invited to be(and have accepted)a co-administrator on The Best Years Of Our Lives message board.
I am personally delighted to have the opportunity to play a more active role within the Neil Diamond fan community and to foster better relationships amongst the boards. I was surprised to find that there are over 15 Neil Diamond boards on the world wide web, some of them very active like IAIS, BYOOL and The BOAT, others not so active, tihs being possibly due to poor advertising and therefore lack of awareness by many in the community.
One thing is for sure, as Neil Diamond fans, we are blessed and spoiled for choice. Me? I post on all of them, some on a regular basis, others from time to time,(Even using translation packages to post on the German board)!!
I have made many friends outside the 3 main boards and have been surprised and delighted by the response I have been given by other ND fans worldwide, not just to my posts but to my website too. (Although one recent visitor left me a note in my Guestbook to tell me I sounded like Bruce Springstein on some numbers, lol)
I really do hope that we can all look to the future with some brightness and solidarity and that the rifts, so evident in the community from time to time can be healed once and for all.

Sometime ago, February 2002, a certain young lady, name of Arlene, co-hosted the Neil Diamond Show on WNJC1360am.
Nothing unusual there you might think except that on this particular show, the entire show was devoted to an on air interview with Jim Silvers, (producer of Forever In Bluegrass - A Tribute to Neil Diamond) and one Richard Bennett. ( you know the guy who was lead guitar in Neil's band for years and co-wrote Forever In Blue Jeans )
Well the show was taped and now by the miracles of modern technology, you can hear the whole thing!!
Where I hear you ask? MMMM, Shall I tell you or not?
It's in 12 parts, done that way to aid streaming audio. You'll need real player to listen to it. If you ain't got it a free one is available for downloading at Real.Com http://real.com
Enjoy it and a big thanks to Arlene for letting me do this

Hi all. Can anyone help with a song title please? The tune in question was the one that Neil sang when playing the piano at his London concert last night. I've spent all day trying to find out the title so please, for the sake of my sanity, is there anyone who can put a name to it? Thanks and regards
