If we email those emails I suggested it should go to Neil. All we do is wait to see if it happens, and if it doesn't we try again. The "I'm Glad Your'e Here With Me Tonight" video should be available on Ebay, or any other auction site. Also try locating a used video and record dealer in your area.

Roy Orbison and Neil Diamond

by

Hi Allan ,

Does your VHS of the Neil Diamond Concert in 1976 in Australia have Roy Orbison in it? I am searching for a recording of Neil and Roy singing together during a 1976 Australian tour that they both did at that time in Australia. Thanks very much. Best Regards, Bob.

About Saving Silverman

Neil will lip synch Holly Holy from the Live In America CD set and perform Cherry Cherry and Hello Again live. The filming started in Vancouver in June and July. Neil was in Vancouver in July performing for those three songs. It should be in the movie theatres sometime in February.

It's about a tribute band kidnapping Neil Diamond just to have a chance to play his music with them. I heard Neil Diamond had a grand ole time acting and singing for the making of the movie.

FooBark will be so UnDead...

by Bellah Vampire

FooBark... I'm going to have to be the one who does this for you. It's for your own good. You are still in the closet. You feel that you will appear to be more of a man by making fun of who you hold so near and dear to your heart. You once told me how you would love to run your fingers through Kenny G's ringlets and that Meatloaf really is the epitomy of "hunk." Come out darling. Be free, embrace life, once again.

I know why

by Ann

I can't agree with everyone on your list, but I know why Neil Diamond and Barry manilow have such an appeal. Their music and words contain a passion for life and put into words the feelings of lonliness and longing for love we've all experienced. But, for me, there is just no singer who can do it all as does Neil Diamond! He's like a fine wine or cheese-he only gets better with age.

I Love Neil Diamond

by

I have loved Neil for the last 30 years. As a newly married bride I was warmed by his music while stationed overseas with my husband. Twenty-four years ago I was diagnosed with a cancer with the prognosis poor. I looked to Neil's lyrics time and time again and I felt the wonder of his words and music and I felt renewed. Throughout the last many years I have had a total of 6 bouts with the same cancer and I still turn to his music for comfort and I do get it. It a way he is my healing process and I always will be faithful and grateful to Mr. Neil Diamond!

Argentina, Buenos Aires, mayo de 2000.-

I have also loved Neil for more than 30 years and I agree with you on his lyrics. They are really inspiring and give you strength.
When I got married I included his songs in the video of the wedding party and today, even my daughters dance to the rythm of his songs.
I hope you get better every day and keep that faith in love and life. I'm sure you'll make it!

My cousin has since passed away and when I listen to Neil I think of my cousin. I have been to numerous concerts ans have just about every album, tape or CD. I just wanted to share my special thoughts of Neil Diamond's wonderful and inspiring music. Thanks for listening.

I LOVE NEIL, JUST AS MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

by

I HAVE BEEN LISTENING TO NEIL DIAMOND SINCE I WAS ABOUT
2-3 YEARS OLD, IT STARTED OUT I LISTENED TO HIM, BECAUSE IT MADE ME FEEL CLOSER TO MY FATHER, WHO WHICH LOOKS ALOT LIKE HIM. THEN WHEN I HAD ALOT OF TROUBLE TIMES IN MY LIFE, IT SEEMED TO ME THAT NEIL WAS THE ONLY ONE THAT LISTENED, AND DID NOT ASK ANY QUESTIONS AT ALL. I HAD A SERIOUS CAR WRECK IN 1992, AND WAS PRONOUNCED AS A DOA. I STAYED IN A SECONDAIRY COMA FOR 3 MONTHS, AND MY PARENTS SAID THAT THE ONLY PERSON I WOULD RECONIZE WAS NEIL DIAMOND. HE PUTS SO MUCH INTO HIS MUSIC. IT MAKES YOU FEEL LIKE YOU ARE RIGHT THERE WITH HIM AS HE SINGS IT. I JUST HOPE THAT I AM LUCKY ENOUGH ONE DAY TO FINALY MEET THE MAN, AND JUST WALK UP TO HIM AND GIVE HIM ONE SINGLE RED ROSE AND TELL HIM HOW MUCH I'VE ENJOYED HIS MUSIC AND I WILL ALWAYS ENJOY IT.

BY THE WAY, I GOT A RECENT PICTURE OF HIM TODAY, AND I THINK HE LOOKS THE BEST THAT I HAVE EVER SEEN HIM.
THIS IS THE SECOND PICTURE I HAVE OF HIM, AND HOPEFULLY I WILL GET ONE EVERY YEAR THAT HE PERFORMS.

IF ANYONE KNOWS WHEN HE WILL BE GOING ON HIS NEXT TOUR I WOULD BE MORE THAN GREATFUL. WOULD LOVE TO KNOW WHEN HE WILL BE BACK IN ATALANTA GEORGIA.

LOVE,
CHERYL ROGERS

I would like to talk with the many fans who have a special place in their hearts for Neil and his music. There are so many of us, but we all keep it inside until we meet another who knows how we feel. This is the place to read how others feel and to tell your story. What songs are particularly special to you? What situation was helped by the music? Don"t be fearful. In NO MAGIC WANDS I laid it all on the line to help others . You can do the same - help yourself, help me, and help the many others. Thank you. I will leave this forum up for a while and I appreciate input. Best wishes. Sincerely, Bevely Nichols

Friday, July 16, 1999 discussion topic.

by

In my book I detail the importance of Neil Diamond's music in my life. In chapter 2 I am particularly specific about "I Am, I Said." I have an irrational fondness for "September Morn" also, althiough the fondness is not really irrational. My life began on a September morn in 1949. There was plenty of concern that this child would not survive the birth process. But I did. In 1978, on THAT September morn, I survived because of Neil Diamond's words, music, and passion. That day marks the beginning of the second half of my life, which was virtually a rebirth of this child. If you are familiar with my book, you know what I mean, BUT I did not make an issue of the September morn connection in the book.
What are the experiences and Neil Diamond music which holds a special bond to you? Anybody and everybody is welcome to respond. This will be the discussion forum for at least ten days.
Sincerely, Beverly Nichols

I find your story very touching. I was not expected to make it either. Also my mom went thrugh alot of trouble just to get the spark going so I could be formed. I find that Neil Daimonds music has got a spark going inside of me . I have became a novice musician which Neil has inspired.

Discovering Neil

by

In 1978, I was 14 years old and had a very small circle of friends, but a large family. That Christmas a friend gave me a copy of You Don't Bring Me Flowers, a song I loved on the radio. Listening to the album, I quickly found a new favorite, Forever in Blue Jeans. It was my anthem at the time. The following spring my older sister asked what music I would like for my birthday. I told her I liked this new singer, Neil Diamond. She laughed, and for my birthday I received her old copy of Hot August Night. After one playing, I was hooked. There was just SOMETHING about the way Neil sounded, that I felt, Here is someone that understands. I Am...I Said became my absolute favorite, as it remains.
Years go by, new Neil songs come, and my collection of old stuff grows, as my feeling of comradery with this man and his fans also grows. I identify myself as a fan. I go to college and face some VERY tough times, crying into the phone to my parents that I am not like everyone else at OSU. Neil's music was constantly on my stereo and in my mind. I quit college because it was just too hard to deal with----my grades are fine, but I have NO friends and I cannot understand the college ways of life.
Years go by, I work at a daycare, introducing babies to JLS, toddlers to Gitchy Goomy, and preschoolers to I Am the Lion. In 1986, I attend my first concert and revel in the fact that I have found a place I belong. Other concerts follow and I realize I feel closer to the people at these concerts---strangers--than people I work with every day, even closer than I do to most of my family. Time passes, life grows more complicated.......
Finally, last year a family crisis leads me to discuss these feelings with my doctor, and I am diagnosed with mild depression. I am prescribed Paxil, an antidepressant. Within a month, something AMAZING happens. The world seems to physically grow brighter, as if I had been wearing sunglasses and taken them off.
I have now accepted the fact that I needed Neil's music all my life to tell me that I was not alone. Others are out there, just as surely as Jonathan Seagull found others that could understand him.
I thank God for sending me Neil's music.
I thank Neil for being, and for letting me know it is ok to be different.
I thank Neil's fans for understanding and accepting those that ARE different.
And I thank you, Bev, for sharing your story and letting me share mine.
Teresa Noel
