Abortion: Although he claims to be Catholic, he voted for taxpayer supported military abortions, and to allow partial birth abortions.

Civil Rights: He would allow flag burning, would tax social security payments. Contrary to what he says now, he would allow same sex marriage (he voted for same-sex marriage on HR 3396 on Sep. 10, 1996). He would allow human cloning, would not fund the GOP prescription drug benefit for seniors.

Defense and National Security: His acceptance speech at the Democrat Convention in Boston was either misleading or once again he has flip-flopped on the issues:

In 1991 he slashed defense twice by over $3 Billion. In 1992 he cut an additional $6 Billion from defense. In 1993 he voted against a Military Pay Raise (yet his acceptance speech he promised to leave no military family behind).
He introduced such large cuts in defense spending that not even Ted Kennedy voted for them.

On national defense Kerry is weak. He:
CUT the number of Navy submarines and crews. (His “band of brothers”)
CUT light infantry units
CUT tactical fighter wings
COMPLETELY TERMINATED the Navy’s coastal mine-hunting ships (Yet he says he’ll be strong on Domestic Security).
CUT 60,000 members of the Armed Forces in one year. (Then complains that Bush has overextended our military and that they are insufficient men to protect the country against terrorism).
SLASHED Intelligence and Defense spending by $5 billion dollars. This after the Clinton Administration had already in the same year CUT the defense budget by $18 billion.
VOTED AGAINST: deploying a missile defense systems that would protect the continental U.S. He didn’t flip-flop on this issue voting against it 18 times.
FROZE DEFENSE SPENDING in for 7 years
CUT over $34 Billion from defense. (S. Con. Res. 13, CQ Vote #181, May 24, 1995)
He proposed a bill that was so anti military that no one would co-sponsor the bill, the bill would have CUT defense appropriations by another 6.5 Billion dollars (S.1580, Introduced Feb 29, 1996)
He voted to the power of the President to impose economic sanctions. S.2159 (July 15, 1998) Leaving a week military as the country’s only option.
He voted to close military bases. H.R. 2006 (Oct 6, 1999)
He voted 9 times between 1998 and 1994 to ELIMINATE the B-2 Bomber. (The same ones that saved innocent lives and defeated terrorism in the Middle East)

Education: Voted:
NO on voluntary prayer in school S.1513 (Jul 27, 1994
NO on funding abstinence education s 1956 (Jul 23, 1996)
NO on tax relief for education savings for poor families. H.R. 2646 (Jun 24, 1998) and again s.1134 (Mar 2, 2000) no flip flop here.

Government: Kerry voted:
NO to ban gifts to politicians S. 1061 (Jul 28, 1995)
NO to a constitutional amendment that would require the budget to be balanced S.J.Res.1 (Mar 4, 1995)
NO on reducing the national debt S Con Res 101 (Apr 5, 2000)

Immigration Kerry wants to:
Grant legal status to Nicaraguans and Cubans, 967,000 people. 1997
Including an amnesty for illegal aliens from El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Haiti S. 2045 (Yr 2000)
Grant amnesty to illegal agricultural workers S. 1645 (co-sponsor 2003)
Reward illegal immigration by granting in-state tuition and amnesty to certain illegal aliens. (2003)

TAXES: Kerry has consistently voted for HIGHER TAXES
Voted to increase taxes 375 times.
Against spending reductions to reduce the national budget H.R. 3759 (1994)
Against a balance budget S. Con.Res 57 (May 23, 1996)
Against a super-majority for rising taxes S.Con.Res. 86 (Apr 1, 1998)
Increase gas tax S. 3209 (Oct. 18, 1990) and H.R. 2264 and H.R. 8 (2000)
Against eliminating the marriage penalty H.R.4810 (Jul 18, 2000)

NO on cutting taxes by $1.35 TRILLION over 11 years H.R. 1036 (May 23, 2001)

Thank you for taking the time to review Kerry’s voting record. I thought you might not be informed about his record in Senate because the international press such as the NY Times, Los Angeles Times, and Washington Post, and the alphabet soup networks, ABC, NBC, CBS, and PBS present a very subjective rendition of the “hard” news. Kerry’s voting record has not been published in any of the media that are listed above. I suspect that since Kerry’s positions on most issues are not those of mainstream America, the press does not want to highlight Kerry’s unpopular positions.
Kerry’s positions are completely out of step with the majority of Americans. Reliable Polls show that the majority of Americans do not share the Democrat positions, which are pro-abortion, separation of church and state, and a weak national defense. For example, According to a new Zogby International poll, 69 percent of registered voters in Massachusetts want to vote on a constitutional amendment to keep Massachusetts a traditional marriage state. Which may be why Kerry, the Massachusetts Senator is a closet liberal on this issue publicly. Consider these Zogby Poll results: 73.5% of parents approve or strongly approve of abstinence-centered sex education. This is not the Democrat position. 61.1% of parents disapprove or strongly disapprove of “comprehensive” or “safe sex” education. This is not the Democrat position. 75.3% of parents disapprove or strongly disapprove of the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) sex education curriculum. This is not the position of the Democrat party, yet the media presents the democrats as “mainstream” on all these issues.
I submit that since the international media know that positions taken by Democrat politicians represent the views of a vociferous minority, the media strategy is to degrade, slander, and poke fun at Republicans. As a result, instead of reasons why one should vote for Kerry, many Democrat voters can only express the media spin, which misrepresents the facts, and is otherwise irrelevant and immaterial. Those uninformed and usually uneducated Democrat voters will not be voting for Kerry but against Bush. One of the more humorous reasons for not voting for Bush is that he is a “dummy” and cannot pronounce “nuclear”. When in fact he graduated from Yale and has a Masters from Harvard Business School.
The question most voters want the answer to is whether John Kerry will protect this nation during this "war on terror"? In light of his overall background, his voting record, the answer, I submit, is clearly "no". Despite his rhetorical attempts to be on all sides of the issues, Kerry is a Democrat who has exhibited a pattern of anti-defense and anti-intelligence votes in the Senate. America's national security requires well trained and high-tech-equipped Armed Forces and intelligence services that require sufficient funding and congressional support. Kerry's twenty-year history in the Senate is conclusive evidence that President Bush is the best choice in the upcoming election to protect our national security interests. If Kerry is President our military will consist of naked men running around with sticks and clubs.
Uninformed voters might have a false sense of security if Kerry were president. These are the same uninformed voters who will vote for Kerry, but are afraid to fly. Unfortunately Americans are subjected to media propaganda and cannot rely upon news agencies to report the truth. Unfortunately the uninformed are also unaware of the distortion and deception practiced by a media that is biased and unbalanced.
