How is the website building going? Great I hope...

I am so glad that school is back in session and my wild teen is out of my hair for a few hours...and with football practice right after school it gives me a couple of extra hours. he is the Kicker for the team. His hear is really in Soccer but no program out here in the "Sticks"

I changed my forum page and made the top part of it into an IFrame with the menu and the Jute Box in Iframs in that Page. It looks pretty good. and is easy to edit....I think????? At least I can use the menu and music elsewhere and just edit them separately.

i am thinking of doing a News Letter for the members. What do you think? Here I go starting another project before i get the other ones finished... LOL

Hope everything is going good at your place....

You too sounds busy

September 7 2004, 11:08 PM

.. News letter.. nice thought.

Been busy with re-writing my village pages.
Put out frames, got the code valid to xhtml and css, have made it so that handicaped people can access the site with screenreaders; useable without stylesheets, new design, new pages... all in all a lot of work (next to real life which is.. well.. you know)

oh.. the url is http://www.dollbergen.rattarium.net/

and it is ALL in German. (could be a next target to make a smaaler English version.. later...)

yawn tired to death greetings ed.

ps... about the other thread.. nothing but simple as getting the source.. script or not.. lol

I like the webpages....very nice and I love how you have done the pictures on all the sites...very nifty (neat, cool) lol

that is neat that you are making the pages accesable to a wider margin of people.

Please explain frames....? I have read the pages about them but am still confused...

IS and IFRAME the same as a FRAME? how do they and their functions differ? NO links...I have read them all (I recon) and I still do not know the differance in them.

Here is a link I found lastnight...I am going to have to stop staying up till after Midnight when I have to get up at 5...these hours are killing me...LOL

http://www.vortex-webdesign.com/help/hidesource.htm>

so I am understanding more and more about what can be got around and all...

I am not protecting the site for protection sake...there is nothing on there that I care if someone sees, or uses ...

I am simpley doing it because there are tons of people out there that want to know how to do it and so far no one has come up with a way....I will prevail...to about 90% come heck or high water...

I think I have come up with a way to do it and the only way to get around it is to use httracker (the program that downloads entire websites...) I have that little gem and it is un real....almost as good as FTP...LOL

When I get some pages done I will put in a line <!--> for you to find and give back to me....and see if you were able to do anything with the pages.

I am not going to encrypt any pages...that is just too easy to get around...to many programs....LOL and is really confusing. KISS (keep it simple silly)

Have a great week. what is left of it.

TaTa.

Frame s

September 9 2004, 8:56 AM

the short version then:

starting with iFrame. Literal InlineFrame, just a 'peephole' the iframe, within a website.

second: Framset: a bundle of pages bundeled to a FramSet.
That's how my pages looked like before the re-doing. You could have a set of pages, usually one side-site, including the navigation-menu, a head-site for the logo and name of the homepage. Sometimes there is an additional site at the bottom, listing things like Copyright, Date of update or something.
Those are just normal html-sites, the mainpage includes nothing but the listed framepages... (sigh.. you probably should read a tutorial written by some guy who has English as main language.. lol)

If I find time I should re-write the navigation for this forum, it should be readable without css, best to put it in a List. Some time.

tada
