How to use the rebate

As you may have heard, the Bush Administration said each and every one
of us would now get a nice rebate.

If we spend that money at Wal-Mart, all the money will go to China . If
we spend it on gasoline, it will all go to the Arabs; if we purchase a
computer, it will all go to India ; if we purchase fruit and vegetables
,it will all go to Mexico , Honduras , and Guatemala; if we purchase a
good car, it will all go to Japan or Germany; if we purchase useless
crap, it will all go to Taiwan . none of that spending will help the
American economy.

We need to keep that money here in America , so the only way to keep
that money here at home is to buy prostitutes (follow Mr. Spitzer's lead and keep the money here in the USA) and beer and to visit Native American casinos, since those are the only "native" businesses still in the US.

Well the IRS is involved

March 20 2008, 7:25 AM

so there is a very complicated formula for people for unique situations, but for the average working person who pays taxes, it will be $600 each for each adult ($600 for a single person, $1200 for a married couple filing jointly) and $300 for each dependent child, providing the single person doesn't have an adjusted gross income >$85,000 and a married couple filing jointly doesn't have an AGI >$160,000.

People who make above those limits don't even get kissed first.

Too late - my rebate is going to pay for

March 23 2008, 6:00 PM

part of my London vacation in July - not helping local economy at all, I'm afraid. My refund will just about cover my ticket. Thank goodness Bob now has a spare bedroom so I will save a bundle on hotel charges this year!
