Here I am
watching
you grow
from a
babe in
my arms
to a girl
filled with
charms.
I stand
here
praying
that your
days are
peaceful
and filled
with sunshine
and cheer
when I am
no longer
here.
My heartfelt
wish is known
by our Lord
in whom I
trust. His
existence
makes all
things bright
and I pray
that you too
will know
His light.

Beautifully written, Julie! Daughters are a challenge to raise, especially when they get to the teenage years... Keeping them and yourself God-centered is essential!
Beautifully said, Julie, and I especially loved the ending. I, too, wish my daughter to have the Lord in her life more than anything else in this world. With Him, all other things are secondary. I am going to have my daughter read your poem. Thanks.
